Chapter 53 - Singing

"And? How was it?" Smackle asked as she and Sara came through Maya's window.
"Really good. We saw the baby in full motion. Head, arms, legs here look at the sonar," Maya said.
"Oh my goodness. Can you tell the gender yet?" Sara asked.
"Only at fourteen weeks I think," Smackle said.
"Sixteen at the earliest depending how the baby is laying," Maya said.
"Oh yeah. Riley asked about you," Smackle said.
"What did she say?" Maya asked.
"Asked how it's going and if the baby's good. Normal stuff. I think she still cares."
"Yeah I think I'm going to burry all of this nonsens between the two of us. She was honest from the beginning about me not getting involved with Josh. She didn't like it and I knew it. Thought he didn't know me good enough or something," Maya said.
"We gonna start on homework?" Sara asked.
"Yeah," Maya said.

Maya sat by the desk while Sara and Smackle sat on the bed doing homework.
Her attention got divided for a second by a file of stuff she wrote long ago.
She closes her Chemistry book and takes the file out.
A piece of paper falls out and she catches it.
She reads the tie and smiles.

'Two Young Hearts'

"What you smiling at?" Sara asked and Maya gave her the paper.
"A song?" Sara asked.
"I had no idea you could sing," Smackle said.
"Yeah I write stuff regular. I think this song was about me and Josh the last time I looked. I wrote regular," Maya said.
"What about a break for a bit of singing?" Smackle asked.
"Yeah sure," Maya said and grabbed her guitar.

"What do you girls want to hear?" Maya asked.
"Something we have heard before," Sara said and May's thought of a song.
