"Class," the professor began, startling Hoseok out of his hazy daydream, "today we are welcoming a new student, Son Chaeyoung."

The statement took Hoseok off guard completely, a new student??

Curiosity got to the best of him, as he patiently waited for the anonymous person to be revealed. A tad bit of excitement couldn't help but bubble up inside him as well at the thought of a new friend, since he knew what it felt like being the new student.

So, maybe, the two could be friends.

Maybe.

Just a couple seconds after the teacher unexpectedly announced the surprising news, a petite figure stepped inside the classroom, her eyes nervously scanning everyone's shocked expressions.

The girl, or Chaeyoung, was very pretty, with her curly short jet black hair resting promptly at her shoulders, the loose curls slightly bouncing as she approached the front of the classroom.

She had very delicate and simple features, yet had this intricate facade to it. With a small beauty mark resting just below her pink and plump lips, and eyes glistening under the afternoon sunlight beaming from the windows, the girl looked practically ethereal.

Her outfit was simple yet stylish, with light washed mom jeans and a pale yellow crew neck with simple embroidery mocking the neckline. The girl's hair was also styled with matching hair clips that complemented her sweatshirt perfectly.

It was adorable, as her whole outfit and presence radiated this pure and innocent energy that Hoseok couldn't quite explain.

He could just tell by the wholesome demeanor that she was a soft spoken and sweet kind hearted person, the vibes were too strong and blatantly obvious not to pick up on.

Amidst his observations, the girl suddenly spoke up, catching the class' unenthusiastic stares once again.

"Um hi," she began shyly, feet anxiously shifting on the floor below her, "I'm Son Chaeyoung, and just moved here recently from San Francisco. I'm excited to join your class."

Her eyes instantly averted back to the ground once she finished her simple yet somewhat informative introduction. The entire class just blankly stared and nodded, but a few wore small yet welcoming smiles.

Hoseok knew exactly what the situation was like for her right now, being the shy and awkward new kid without knowing anyone at the school beforehand. But one thing that he did pity even more that he couldn't quite relate to, was that she came several weeks after the new school year had already started.

Meaning that the majority of the students attending the school, even new ones, had found their rightful friend groups and cliques.

He couldn't help but feel bad for her.

"Alright, you can sit next tooo," the teacher paused for a moment, dragging out the 'to' as she studied the desk placement, "Jung Hoseok, fourth row, fifth seat from the right wall."

Chaeyoung timidly walked over towards where the teacher had pointed to, her white sneakers scurrying across the floor somewhat resembling a mouse in a way.

Just to make sure she was completely aware of who he was, Hoseok sent her a small wave in her direction, to which Chaeyoung graciously smiled at and hurried her way over to.

Once settled at her desk, Hoseok quietly whispered, "I'm Hoseok, or you can call me Hobi. It's nice to meet you," he hesitated, "Chaeyoung right?"

Looking up from her lap, Hoseok was instantly met with a pair of big, round and dark brown sparkly eyes, a tint of surprise dancing in them as someone was actually speaking to her.
