Just as Hoseok was about to drift into a never ending dreamland on his desk, the period bell rung after practically an eternity it seemed like.

Hastily jumping up out of his seat, which made him slightly dizzy, Hoseok didn't waste any time in catching Chaeyoung before she left the classroom and towards her next class.

"Chaeyoung?" Hoseok gently called after her, as to not come off as too overwhelming or energy bearing.

Turning her head around, hair swiftly swooshing in the process, her doe eyes were met with Hoseok's caramel ones, "Oh, did you need something?" She quietly asked.

"No, I was just wondering if you wanted to eat lunch with me and my friends, unless you have someone else you wanted to sit with," Hoseok smiled brightly at her, showing off his pearly whites.

Just as those words fell out of his mouth, Chaeyoung's face instantly lit up at the invitation, sending him a gleaming smile, "Really? Are you sure? It's very nice of you, but I don't want to intrude or anything."

"I'm sure," Hoseok beamed, hands shifting in his pant pockets.

"If that's okay with you, I'd love to. Thank you so much, it means a lot," she nervously giggled.

"Mhm, okay! Just meet me at the vending machines outside the cafeteria, do you know where that is?"

"Ummm I think so, I'll figure it out. Thanks again!" Before departing from him and rushing off to the next class, Chaeyoung sent him one last gracious smile, the amount of genuine gratitude radiating off of it overwhelming Hoseok.

But in a good way.

Watching her run out of the classroom, Hoseok couldn't help but smile to himself at the thought of saving her from some form of humiliation or feeling of having no friends in the foreign environment.

Because he had once been in that place too, and knew exactly what it felt like.

Like everyone was watching and judging your every single move, making you paranoid every step you took in fear of walking weirdly or wearing something that was bully material.

It was the worst feeling in the world.

The least he could do was help others avoid being stuck in that situation, just as Taehyung had done to him.

Because once you were in that loophole of intimidation, fear, paranoia, and shyness, it was extremely hard to get out of that negative mindset. And it was especially difficult that because of those built up insecurities that only continued to pile up one after the other, that it was nearly impossible to fight your way out.

Plus, Chaeyoung reminded himself of her; a more quiet, awkward, stiff person too scared to show much emotion or enthusiasm in worry of being made fun of.

Hoseok could just tell that there was more to her than that quiet appeal she put on at first, one sample of proof being from just a couple minutes ago.

Of course, this didn't determine her true personality since it's natural to respond this way, but when Hoseok had offered her to sit at lunch with them, there was almost a switch in her eyes going off.

It sounded crazy, but Hoseok was sure of it.

Like a small shimmer of life.

Her once dull eyes, always focusing at something on the floor to avoid any eye contact at all costs, just snapped with the blink of an eye.

The once small twinkle from the sunlight outside transforming into a glimmer of exhilaration and liveliness.

Similar to how once you turned on a light switch, it goes from a pitch black room to a room full of bright illumination lights, making everything stand out and pop, showings it's true colors.
