Cat x Reader: Babysitting

"Ugh! Why do we have to stay by her bedside." Mao whines. You nod in agreement.

"You know her. You also brought her here. She hasn't been conscious since this morning. I normally don't take in civilians but this was an emergency. Thanks for giving me more work." Doctor Otogi says. Both yourself and Mao continue to sit on the couch bored. You both knew you wouldn't win this argument.

Right now you're both in the infirmary. Just the other day Mao found her passed out somewhere. He ended up having to stay the night to keep an eye on her. Mao being Mao, got bored really fast and called you to come back to work and keep him company. So you sadly decided your goodnights rest can wait so you could keep your boyfriend company. Oh how you wished it was someone else who found her body.

"It's a good thing I have two deputy supervisors here." Dr. Otogi then left the room.

"Alright fine. I guess our important duties will have to be put aside." Mao sighs.

"Not like anything is going on anyways. Better babysitting than baby work." You lean on his shoulder. You let out a tired yawn.

"You can go ahead and sleep if you want." Mao says.

"It's fine. My head just hurts from thinking too much." You scrunch up your face temporarily at the pounding pain in your head. Headaches are a bitch.

"What were you thinking about." Mao places his arm around your shoulder, pulling you into his chest.

"About why would Big Sister Noriko would be here. It's not like Enki is around anymore. She talked with Samon yesterday but mainly because she couldn't talk with Enki." You look at the pretty woman resting in bed.

"It is weird that she still comes here. Its obvious Big Sister Noriko does it for Enki. Even so, why would she still visit?" Mao wondered.

You then both looked at her in silence.

"Maybe she doesn't know." Mao finally says.

"It is possible. No one's told her." You look at her sympathetically.

It must be hard. Taking the time to visit a person you care deeply about. Only to not get much out of it because they're gone and she doesn't even know.

"Nyagh! Why do we have to watch over her again?" Mao whines some more.

"Couldn't it be that bunny rabbit, Tomato Ichijou?" You join in with your boyfriend whining.
