Ruka x Reader x Mao: A queen, a cat and a reader

"What do you mean we have to take the night shift?" Mao whines to building 2's supervisor.

"Who's we?" He asks.

All Mao can do was smile slyly.

----A Few Moments Later----

"Why did you say 'we'?" Ruka says through gritted teeth.

"I wasn't gonna do this alone without my too best friends." Mao slings an arm around Ruka's shoulders.

After the whole Enki thing, Ruka got his job back as a guard. He is actually deputy supervising officer of building 3.

When he got his job back-and after being promoted-he attended a party the guards were throwing in headquarters.

While there, he met Mao and (Y/n). The three got along and excepted each other. He learned that not many people are fond of Mao because of his sly and teasing personality. He found out you also weren't in a good position of 'friendship' with the other guards because you we're uh unique.

The three excepted each other and after only 5 months since their first meeting, they can call each other best friends.

"(Y/n) isn't here." Ruka crosses his arms.

"That's because Zuloxine has taken over her soul." You speak in a deep voice.

You wore a black cape and a gothic Lolita dress instead of your uniform.

"C'mon (Y/n). We are taking the night shift nya." Mao grabs you by the arm.

"Bu-but I don't even work in building 2." You start speaking in your regular voice.

Welp, looks like the deputy supervising officers of buildings 2,3 and 8, are taking the night shift over in building 2.

They stayed up for awhile. All they pretty much had to do was sit in the monitoring room. Making sure the inmates won't cause trouble. Though this is Nanba Prison, no one can escape from it.

That's just what they know anyways.

By the time in was midnight, the three were getting tired.

"Alright. I need my beauty sleep." Ruka yawns.

"Fallen angels need to rest too." You rub your eyes tiredly.

"We can't. We're supposed to stay up." Mao yawns.

The two other deputy supervisors, through a lazy glare at him.

"You are supposed to stay up." Ruka points an accused finger at the cat.

"We are supposed to go back home." You point to yourself then at Ruka.

"Ugh fine. We will take shifts. Rock, paper, scissors?" Mao smirks.

"Have it your way. Take off your paws first." Ruka smirks along with him.

Mao does so with a nod.

"You shouldn't have challenged Zuloxine." You narrowed your eyes and spoke in your deep voice.

The three of you then do the thing. The thing that you do to decide things between the three of you.

You lost.

A look of horror made a its way to your face.

"No! My powers have failed me!" You yell devastated.

"So this mother fucker takes first shift!" Mao points a finger at you.

"Why do you always lose?" Ruka asks with an amused smirk, referring to how you always lose at rock, paper, scissors.

"Alright. Us." Mao and Ruka then faced each other.

The final showdown.

Ruka lost. He's taking next shift after you. Then Mao takes the final shift.

So the way this is gonna work is that you stay up for 2 hours, then wake up Ruka and he takes shift for 2 hours, then he wakes up Mao and he takes shift for 2 hours.

Over all it was a 6 hour job considering the current time.

It wasn't long where Ruka and Mao were asleep next to each other.

They were practically cuddling.

You sighed and turned around to the many screens.

"I guess we are lucky to have a bed in this monitoring room." You lay back in your chair.

You made sure to not fall asleep though.

It was a difficult task.

~Two Hours Later~

"Ruka. Ruka." You shook the said male.

He woke up after a moment and looked around confused before realizing where he was.

"I'm guessing it's my turn?" He looks at you.

"You guessed right." You yawned, "by they way I got coffee for you if you need a bit of help staying up." You point over at the desk wear the hot drink sits.

"My usual?" He asks.

"One and only." You nod. Only about 2 minutes later, you were asleep.

~2 Hours Later~

"You're turn." Ruka shoves Mao off the bed.

"Nyagh!" Mao yelps surprised.

~2 Hours Later~

"Wake up. I wanna sleep now." Mao hits the two of you with his paws.

"Just sleep." Ruka grumbles.

Mao was too tired to argue so he just snuggled in between the two of you and slept.
