Nightmare and Dream had always been guardians of the tree of feelings. Just like they've always been princes. They always looked out for each other while maintaining their jobs as guardians. They got along well and they enjoyed each other's company and would talk to each other a lot and never keep secrets from each other. However, Nightmare was actually keeping one secret from Dream that Dream actually didn't know about. Nightmare knew that himself and Dream were both destined to a specific role. Dream was destined to be a hero...while Nightmare was destined to be a villain...but...Dream didn't know that...
Nightmare did have a dark sense of humor and a dark sense of how to 'solve' issues but he never let Dream see the dark side of his 'happy and cheerful' personality which really was just an excellent coverup for his true personality. Though, he knew he would have to eventually start fulfilling what he was meant to do meaning, by becoming a villain but one day, Dream starts noticing Nightmare's behavior is off. But what happens if Dream confronts Nightmare about his unusual behavior?
