Ever since Nightmare (passive) 'ran away' from home, Dream had no idea where Nightmare had went. He had no idea that Nightmare literally became a pirate in a different au. Nightmare loved being a pirate. He could be as cruel as he wanted and his crew would have to listen to him! What more could he ask for? Then one day, something happened to Dream when he was near the ocean in the one au.
Then when Dream was on the beach, he got captured by pirates and was held hostage. However, Nightmare later encountered that pirate's boat in the ocean, raided it and searched it for anyone worth holding hostage. Then he found that Dream had been a hostage so he took Dream to keep Dream as a hostage but how would Dream react to the fact that Nightmare was forcefully keeping him a hostage on his boat? How would he react to the fact that Nightmare was a pirate now?
