Chapter thirty five: The Garage

Frank ran over and crouched grabbing the bottom of the large metal door while Tanner ran over and crouched helping him, the two got the heavy door up letting Jonathan set Aviana down picking up the ritfle and went in, he scanned the area fast before turning and moving out picking Aivana up bridal style and moved under the door with Heather, Vivian, LJ and the two holding it open, LJ set Ivan down and sat down cross legged while the two looked at the metal door, Jonathan set Aviana down and brought the ritfle up looking around. Jonathan walked over and looked through the glass door moving the ritfle behind him taking the machette out and opened the door seeing one of the dead standing in the ruined store, knocked over shelve's, magazines laying on the ground, signs of them being stomped on, chips scattered with the bags they were once in also on the floor. Jonathan raised the machette killing the zombie that ocupied this store and turned hearing another walking towards him, it's jaw partly falling off but it's eye's looked different, they was a bright red circle around the coloured part of his eye, and the puplie was a foggy grey colour.

Jonathan holstered the machette and looked around picking up a metal bar that was used to hold up small candy bags, he flipped it before stabbing it into the top of the zombie's head and held it up looking at it's disgusting face ''Jonathan?'' he turned and held the zombie by the collar of it's shirt keeping it off the ground and saw Heather ''Uh, yeah?'' he asked and pulled it over to the counter tossing it so it sat against the counter ''Where are we going?'' Jon looked at her a bit confused of why she wasn't asking Frank ''Um... We might wait here for a day, to see if anyone comes this way.'' he stated and looked to the zombie before walking over and turned her moving her back towards the garage part, he held the door open for her and looked to Frank ''I need a different opinion on something.'' he stated and looked to Tanner and LJ as well seeing they were the ones most likely to see a difference in the zombie.

LJ got up and looked to Aviana while Vivian sat with her, Aviana smiled ''Go.'' LJ smiled and turned walking over to Jon with Tanner and Frank ''He cares about you.'' Vivian stated, Aviana watched him leave before smiling a bit and turned front seeing Vivian checking her leg thinking about the simple comment. Jonathan crouched down infront of the zombie who's eye's have closed by now and looked to the three before turning and lifted his eye lids up a bit showing his eye, Frank crouced and brought a light up shinning it into it's eye seeing the red and grey ''They don't look like this aready?'' Jon looked to him and shook his head pulling his hands away, Tanner peeked at the walker ''That's at least two months old.'' the two turned looking up to him, LJ nodded noticing the decay as well ''But that would mean this guy turned before the initial outbreak.'' Jon stated thinking about the month's that have passed ''Not neccesarially, he could've been paitent zero out here, the very first to turn.'' LJ informed looking at his clothing ''He's wearing stuff that would suggest he left the house with a small errend.'' he stated pointing at the jean jacket covering the man's dirty shirt.

Tanner crouched down making the other two get up letting Tanner see the body, he looked around his face ''There are tissue fragments in his pitiful mustache.'' he stated, Jon smiled and looked around trying to see if there was a reason for him to have come here for medicine, Tanner stood up and thought about it ''But, if he was sick, and only a couple miles from the nearest city, why not go into the city to a pharmacy or hospital?'' Tanner stated confused, Jonathan picked up one of the last bottles ''Because they were selling cold and flu medicine for three dollars.'' Jon stated finding it shocking and looked over to them, LJ smiled ''I would've drived out all this way just to get that.'' he stated and went behind the counter, Frank walked over and looked at the other things in this small store. Tanner turned looking back at the zombie ''How close have you gotten to a zombie to see it's face.'' Jonathan paused and looked to Frank then looked towards Tanner seeing LJ crouch behind the counter ''Uh, pretty close.'' he stated, Tanner turned looking to Jon getting up ''Have they ever looked like this?'' Jonathan thought about that breathing in and shook his head ''The most that I've seen, especially with their eye's, they look dead, souless almost.'' he stated, Tanner nodded and turned back to the zombie.
