THE GROUP prepared for the day quickly. rosaline fed judith her breakfast and was watching as daryl was fine-tuning his crossbow. maggie and glenn were already out of the house. before maggie had uttered something to her about daryl - she'd already known what she meant.

glenn, tara, and noah were out with nicholas and aiden, ( deanna's son ), on a supply run. they were going to be showing them the ropes. rosaline thought it was unnecessary since most of the group most likely knew a lot more about survival than the people who led an easy life inside the walls.

"ow." he hissed, scrunching his face in pain and licking blood off of his finger.

rosaline gave him a glance, "don't lick that." she reprimanded.

the door squeaked open and carol walked out, a pleased smile appeared on her features, "time to punch the clock and make the casseroles." she announced.

     "what?" daryl asked in confusion.

the young woman turned to her raising her brows, "you're making dinner?"

"yeah, just for the older people. moms who need a break, people who can't cook. get to meet a lot of the neighbors that way." she elaborated with satisfaction. it was no secret that carol was always a people person. the older woman loved the idea of having new people to talk to now.

rosa shot her a smile, bouncing judith up and down as she walked around, "that's a nice idea, deanna give you that job?"

carol nodded as daryl scoffed, "yeah." she shot him a look, "have you taken a shower yet?"

     the marksman nodded, "mh-hmm."

she turned to rosa, who nodded, "fine. give me that vest though, it needs a wash. we need to keep up appearances, even you."

"hey, i ain't starting now." he fired back at her.

the woman rolled her eyes, "i'm gonna hose you down in your sleep if you don't keep it up."

rosaline chuckled seeing as carol started down the street. judith squealed out, waving her hands, trying to wriggle around in the girl's arms.

daryl gave her one look back, "you look ridiculous!" he teased.

"daryl." his girlfriend warned, still with an impish smile, "she's right. we have to at least try."

"sure." he breathed out, not sparing her one look as she continued to fix his crossbow.

she nodded, sitting down in the lawn chair, the baby resting her head on her chest gently. it was starting to become her nap time, perhaps rosaline could have a bit of shut-eye. it wasn't like daryl was going anywhere - and if he would he'd probably wake her up since they couldn't leave the toddler without supervision.
