You and Ryan sat in the waiting room, waiting for the nurse to take you back. Your head was resting on his shoulder because even though you've been done with chemo for over a week, you still had no energy.

The headaches started right after your first year anniversary. Then the nose bleeds and the not being able to keep your weight up. You said everything was fine, but when you collapsed at a Bruins game, Ryan made you go to the doctor.

You were diagnosed with stage three leukemia and ever since then you've been in and out of the hospital, with your boyfriend right beside you. He ended up taking a leave of absence from the team so that he was able to be with you during the chemo.

This appointment would tell you whether or not the blood transfusion and three rounds of chemo worked, or if you would have to do something more invasive.

"Everything is going to be okay." He whispered, kissing your forehead. "I'll be by your side the entire time."

When they called your name, Ryan helped you up and followed you to the back where they took your vitals.

"Well your blood tests and scans are back. Looks like everything is clear. Your lymph nodes are still a little swollen but we'll keep a close watch on them for a while and again when you come in for your check up."

Your eyes widened and you covered your mouth. You couldn't believe what he just said.

"Are you serious?"

"You are officially in remission." He smiled, handing Ryan some papers.

"So this means we can travel now?"

"I would rest for a week or two, get your strength back up, but yeah. You can go to Europe now."

The doctor left the room and Ryan pulled you close, gently kissing you. "I definitely have the prettiest girl in town. Soon to be the prettiest girl in Europe." You didn't want to go because you wouldn't have all your hair back, but he convinced you that it didn't matter.  "Why don't we go to dinner and celebrate?"

"Yeah, I'd love to."

For the first time in a year, you were excited to go to dinner. You would be able to have a meal and not lose it soon after. In just a couple of weeks you would be touring Europe with the love of your life.

"I'm so glad I have more than just a day to wrap my arms around the prettiest girl in town."
