Because I was on the wedding tag of Pinterest...

And I miss this motherfucker more than anything my goodness.

This turned out REALLY long...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You had dropped the hint so many times that you had lost count. You and Robert had been dating since high school and it was pretty obvious that you were going to end up together, but he wasn't making the move just yet.

The two of you had gone to numerous weddings. You were always the bridesmaid but never the bride. You would always joke that you could remake the movie 27 Dresses, only your sister wasn't going to be married before you. She was in medical school and didn't have time to think about a boyfriend.

You had started to get frustrated with him, but he still didn't get the memo.

"I have a surprise for you."

"Unless it's a ring, I don't really care." You continued to flip through your magazine, not caring what he had to show you.

"Fine. I won't show you." He turned around, walking back into the kitchen. You could tell he was holding something in his arms, but you couldn't tell what it was.

"Hey, get back here. I want to see what you have." You stood up, hoping he would show you despite what you said earlier. He turned around to be holding a ball of fluff that was a St. Bernard puppy.

"I have to uh- meet with the trainer. I'll be back later. You should totally take the puppy down to the park." He handed you a leash and pretty much pushed you out the door.

"Weird." You said to yourself as you took the puppy down to the park. "We're naming you Panda. Yes we are."

You sat in the grass, Panda jumping over you as he tried to bite your hands. "You gots those puppy teef and puppy breath and you're just adorable Panda. Yes you are." You looked up to see someone holding a balloon with a polaroid attached to the end of the ribbon and an envelope. He handed both to you and left. The picture was of you two in high school. It looked like homecoming, but it could've been prom too.

We had our first kiss here, but do you remember where our first date was?

You put the picture and note back in the envelope, shoving it in your back pocket before tying the balloon to the leash and heading to the pizza place downtown. Waiting for you just inside the door was a balloon with a picture and an envelope.

"Is this for me?" You asked the hostess.

"Yeah it is." She leaned down to pet Panda while you read the note.

Remember when I tried to teach you to skate? Key word, tried. Good thing you've come a long ways since then!

The picture on the balloon was you in middle of falling down the first time you went skating with Robert. You were getting your workout, as the ice rink was somewhat far away. Luckily, it was a nice day out and Panda had a lot of energy.

Once you got the skating part down, I got you a stick and gloves.

The picture was of the two of you, his arms were wrapped around you, holding your stick as you looked up at him. The hockey shop was on the other side of the rink, you walked in and went to the desk, hoping Panda wouldn't cause too much trouble.

"You Bortuzzo's girl?" The kid asked.

"Indeed." He handed over the balloon and you looked at the picture of you two in your house back in Pittsburgh. The first one you two owned.

I told you I loved you here...
No, I'm not making you go to my parent's house, just my mom's shop.

It was down the street and you were hoping that she had water or something to drink. The bell chimed as you walked into the flower shop and your boyfriend's mother greeted you with a hug.

"I'll give you the photo and envelope before I make you take the flowers. This must be the new puppy."

"He's our furbaby. His name is Panda."

The boutique you love so much has a surprise.

Robert's mother handed you the peonies and a water bottle, tying the balloon to the leash for you. You said your goodbyes and started down the street just a few feet before going into the store.

"You don't mind my dog in here do you?"

"No, I have a bag of things for you. I can definitely keep this adorable puppy company while you go change." She handed me a paper bag, with the handles tied together with the ribbon of a balloon.

You took out the simple sun dress with high heeled booties with a light scarf to go over it. You pulled your hair into a messy bun to complete the look and put your other clothes in the bag and went to retrieve your dog.

"I believe this is for you." She handed you an envelope.

Last one, I promise. It's getting late and probably dark so you should come home. I'll have a candle lit dinner ready for you when you get back.
Love,
Robert

You put the envelope in the bag and started back to your summer home. By the time you had gotten back, the sun was almost gone and the porch light was on.

"Rob." You whined. You thought he left without telling you.

You walked inside, letting Panda off his leash and you followed the balloons back outside. Your back yard was decorated with lights and Robert had set a bunch of pillows and blankets on the ground, pointing to a screen. You noticed what it said before you noticed him down on one knee.

Will you marry me?

"Oh my God. Yes. Yes of course I'll marry you!" You wrapped your arms around his neck, kissing him before he slid the ring on your finger. "It took you long enough."
