You sat out on the shore, watching the water hit your toes over and over again. You clutched the oversized sweater you were wearing to your body. It was thin, but the breeze blowing over the lake made it the perfect thing to wear over your swim suit.

"Babe, it's  time to eat," Michael called from halfway up the stairs. You turned around and made your way up to him, he greeted you with a kiss on top of your head, "Everyone loves you. Why don't you spend more time up at the house?"

You had met some of his family before, but not everyone. You weren't sure if you wanted to come up for the family reunion at first, but you were glad you did. It was obvious that neither of you two knew what was going to happen in the future. You liked where you were but weren't rushing anything.

His little cousin came to sit next to the two of you, you thought she was adorable. Kari was such a sweetheart and never wanted to leave your side. She reminded you of your neice, youre brother's first daughter. The three of you were talking about whatever came to Kari's mind. Most of the time you were giggling while Michael tried to change subjects.

One of the youngest children was given to your boyfriend, but you took him away.

"He's so adorable," You gushed as the little boy bounced on your leg, "Yes you are. Such a handsome boy. Aren't you? Yes"

You couldn't help but think of what it would be like to have children with Michael. Ever since you were younger, you knew you wanted kids. Three or four of them. You had just graduated from college and were thinking about maybe settling down within the next few years. Sure, you were still young but you wouldn't mind having a plan.

"Want to go out on the lake?" Michael turned to you, you nodded and gave the little boy back to his mother. He went inside to grab a blanket and a light jacket.

It was just the two of us, he was driving the boat. The sun was setting, making the sky a pretty pink color. You took another sip of your beer before sitting down in the front. Once he got to the spot he wanted, Michael joined you, pulling him close to you. He still smelled like lake from when the two of you went swimming earlier today.

"It's beautiful out here, isn't it?" He asked but you didn't give a reply. You wanted to take in the beautiful scenery in front of you. You both stayed quiet for a while before he broke the silence.

"How many do you want? How many kids?"

You thought about his question for a while, not sure how to reply, "Isn't it a bit soon to be thinking about children?"

"I wouldn't say that," he laughed to himself, "I mean, you can have children without being married. If that's not for you, I think the ring in my pocket could help."

You pulled away from him, not believing what he just said. He fumbled around in his pocket before taking out a stunning ring. It was a plain, silver band with a round diamond that was bigger than anything you would have ever expected.

"I would love to have children with you. Especially if we're married," you leaned in to kiss his nose.

"Let's go swimming," he suggested, pulling at your bikini top, "Skinny dipping."
