You had been nervous to tell him. You didn't want to say anything before the outdoor game, worried it would throw Sidney off. He was good at separating life and work but big news like this could be a different story.
You didn't tell the other girlfriends, knowing Sid should be the first to be told. They could tell something was off.
"Are you sure you don't want a drink?"
"I'm good with water for now. I think I'm too nervous for alcohol."
"Oh sweetie that's why I'm drinking."
Sid shot the game winning goal. The Penguins had beaten the Flyers in Philly.
Everyone in the box was celebrating and you started to cry. Everything was going so well, a baby was just going to make it better.
You made your way down to the ice to find your boyfriend. Everyone was happy and when you found him, you started crying harder.
"Marry me." He said to you.
"Sidney, I'm pregnant." His smile widened as he pulled you into his chest.
"Is that a yes?"
"Of course it is."
