You didn't want to go to Boston, but when Charlie committed to Boston University, you applied to all the colleges near it. You didn't want to be the girl whose plans depended on her boyfriend, but you were.
"I thought you wanted to go to Denver?" Your best friend asked.
"He didn't commit to DU. He committed to BU. So to Boston I go."
"Are you sure you want to put your dreams on hold for his? It's 4 years. You'll have the summers together." Charlie walked in as you were about to tell your friend you had made the decision and it was final. "I'll be closer to home this way."
"Am I interrupting?"
"No, I was just leaving. Just think about it. Please." She left you and Charlie alone. He sat down next to you on your bed.
"What are you doing?"
"Harvard and Northeastern apps. Almost done with them." You said, cuddling into his side.
"Not Boston U?"
"Don't want to smother you."
"Awe babe you'd never do that." He kissed your temple to reassure you. "But if you get into Harvard, I think that would be the best fit. You could run cross country for them."
"If I wanted to. But I don't. How about we stop talking about something that's a year away and watch something on hulu."
