"Come on, you know you want to come hang out with us. It'll just be me and you and my brother and his friend."
"I guess."
You wanted to stay home and read but your best friend had a different idea for this Sunday. "Adrian thinks you're cute so, it's not going to be a bad thing. Trust me." You rolled your eyes and followed her to her car. There was no way he was interested in you.
But you were wrong. The two of you hit it off right away. You were just about to leave when he grabbed your hand. "Wait," he said, "Will you go on a date with me? Like, not with my sister and friend?"
"Yeah, sounds great." The two of you made plans and you were happy your best friend drug you out of your house.
He picked you up the next night at 7:30. You were going to eat dinner then go out on the docks to watch fireworks.
"This is perfect," you told him as you splashed the water with your feet. "Thank you."
"My sister told me you didn't believe I liked you. Do you now?"
"Yeah, I guess I do."
