You stood in front of the mirror, criticizing everything about the way you looked at that moment. Picking at problem areas, trying to hide blemishes, doing things that every girl does. Feeling self conscious, just like everyone else. Except not everyone else was depressed.

You wondered why your boyfriend would want to take you out and show you off. Why he brought you to Sweden to meet his family. There were so many other girls that he could have, but he was with you. The depression wouldn't let you believe that you were worth it.

"Babe, are you ready?"

"Y-yeah. Hold on." You stood in the bathroom for as long as you could get away with before he came in.

"What's wrong? Are you okay?"

Trying not to cry, you shook your head. "Yeah. Yeah, I'm fine." You smiled but your eyes didn't.

"What's wrong? Tell me baby." He pulled you into his chest, kissing the top of your head.

"I-I just don't want to go out. You can do so much better. Someone that looks better on your arm." He didn't say a word, just picked you up and brought you to his room. You curled up in a ball once he set you down, not wanting him to see you cry.

"But what if I want you? What then?"

"Don't you want a girl that likes herself? Someone who doesn't want to just sit in the dark and cry all day?"

He sighed, not sure how to help you, "You know how they say, 'Others can't love you, until you learn to love yourself' or something like that? Well fuck that. I love you. I love everything about you. Maybe I can help you with that because we can't let you feel like you aren't worth it."

Jacob leaned on his one arm, using the other hand to rub your back. You turned towards him, burying your face in his chest and soaking his t-shirt.

"Let's stay in and watch movies. I could give you a massage and we'll eat ice cream for dinner." You started laughing, knowing that you'd order in before that happened.

"That sounds great. I can change into sweats, right?"

"Of course." He kissed your forehead and wiped your tears. "I really do love you, you know that right?"

"Yeah, I do. I love you too."
