I didn't make this about Crawford but we're going for it.

This was it. Your dream. They said you couldn't do it. The first female to be drafted. They said you would be in the top five. You were hoping for the first spot though.
You anxiously waited there with your parents, fidgeting with your dress. You were signing with them while Bettman talked. No one cared about what he had to say anyway. They were just about to announce the first name and you were about to pass out.
There was a translator on the stage so that you could understand what was going on. You could hear a little, but were almost completely deaf.
Then, your parents shook you. You were the first round draft pick. The first female to ever be drafted. You walked up on the stage and put on the sweater and hat. You had finally made it to the NHL.
You were interviewed with your translator, they wanted you to speak when you could but you stuck to signing to keep from being stressed out. Your coach and a few other future teammates were there, congratulating you.
"Welcome to the team. Don't let any pucks near my net." Corey Crawford laughed and you gave him a well known sign, just for the fun of it.
