Your boyfriend's parents brought you with them to the World Junior Championships. It was a short drive, but you were glad that you could make it to the tournament instead of having to work.
You got lunch, just the two of you, the day before the championship.
"How do you think it'll go?"
"With Sweden? Won't be easy, but they're beatable." You could tell he was nervous and tired.
"I'm sure you'll do great."
And they did. They won gold for Canada's 17th title. You went with Victor's family down on the ice to congratulate the team.
"You did amazing!" You wrapped your arms around his neck, kissing him. "I can't believe you won!"
"Thanks baby."
The two of you were excited to get back to Canada to celebrate. It just wasn't the same being 19 in the United States as it was at home.
"Well, since we're stuck here for the night, why don't we ask my parents for a bottle of champagne and celebrate with some much needed alone time?"
"Gladly."
