Hope everyone had a great Christmas and the rest of your holiday break goes fantastic!

------------------------------------------------------------------------

You hated dating an NHL player, but you loved Curtis. You two had been together since you were freshmen in high school You knew this day would come, but you didn't want him to move. You would be going to Toronto for school. He was going to Ottawa.

You were happy for him, though. He was going to follow his dreams of being a professional hockey player. He would be spending the summer with you, but that wasn't enough.

Two weeks before you were leaving for university, he came over to help pack. Only this time, he rang the door bell and waited for you on the porch.

"Lazzy, why didn't you just come in?"

"I uh- I'm really sorry babe. I just don't think this is going to work. You being Toronto and me being in Ottawa. I just. I'm sorry. Good luck in college."

He left you standing there alone. You didn't know what to do, you just stared at the spot he was standing minutes ago. Of course, you couldn't blame him for wanting to break up. He was a professional hockey player and you'd be in a big city with endless options.

But he was the only option you wanted and you didn't know how to get over him.

A few months later, the Senators were in town and your friend's family had a suite so she invited you and a few other girls to go. You wanted to say know. You knew exactly how much it would hurt to see him on the ice after how he ended things.

"What's wrong?" Your friend asked.

"Nothing like your ex scoring two points within the first two periods." You finished the rest of your beer, tossing the bottle in the trash

"What?" They all looked like you gained a third head, "Explain, now."

"Lazar? We were together in high school. Since we were 15. Which would sound better if we were still together but he broke up with me before I left for uni." Having to explain that, made you need another drink. "That's why I was so hesitant to come tonight."

"If I would have known-"

"No, no. It's fine. It's been a while since I went to a hockey game. It's been fun."

What you didn't know is that your friend's uncle was one of the equipment managers for the Maple  Leafs and she was determined to help you out with this.

You sat in the suite with your friends, drinking cheap beer and laughing at the outcome of the game. Everyone looked like hell, but it was a girls night. Everyone had on sweats and hair was every which way. Then someone knocked at the door.

"Alright, who invited boys over." Your roommate joked as she opened the door. The guy outside looked over her shoulder and straight into your eyes.

"Can we talk?" You got up, bringing our drink with you. Lord knows you'd need it. "Listen, I made a big mistake before you left. I miss you and want you back."

"Do you know how many nights I cried myself to sleep?"

"You won't anymore. Just take me back." You looked into his eyes and couldn't resist. "Come on, I'm in town for the night. I just want to spend some time with you."

You fought back a smile, throwing your arms around his neck.

"Damnit I've missed you."
