Part 1: "I'm glad they do," I whispered while smiling at the piano. "I missed playing."

It had been two months of me playing music for the Dimitrescu family. Soon that was all they had me do. Well, that and replacing the flowers in every room since the other maids weren't "competent" enough according to the sisters. While that was true, I didn't believe that was the only reason.

I was replacing the flowers in the bedroom of my lady and humming to myself as I switched out the old flowers — As I got rid of the old water in the vase, the door creaked open as quietly as possible to not pull me out of my trance. I filled the vase with fresh water, placing the new flowers in it before turning around to check for other vases that needed the same treatment.

The lady stood before me with a warm smile on her face as I bowed to her, ignoring the heat that rushed to my cheeks after her presence was finally made known. I had felt her gaze on me for the better half of my task, which had made me feel smaller than normal despite knowing I was one of her favorite beings — aside from her daughters.

"Lady Dimitrescu," I greeted, smiling warmly as I craned my neck to look up at her. "I didn't realize you would be here so soon. I thought the meeting would last longer."

"I thought so too." The tall vampire stated, making her way to her vanity. "I'm just glad it didn't."

I quickly made my way to her side, knowing what she'd ask for next. A few days ago, a maiden had spilled the wine she had poured for lady Dimitrescu and, not wanting to see the young maiden die so soon after arriving, I had offered to let the lady drink from me. The girls protested and only went silent once I confirmed with their mother that I was serious.

I was pulled out of the brief memory when I felt the lady gently hold my arm in her hand, using a knife to slice open my skin. Normally, blood doesn't bother me — it never did when I let one of the sisters drink from me — but when it was the lady drinking from me, it was hard to watch.

Not because it made me uncomfortable or it hurt, it was because I enjoyed it. My heart would start racing the moment her breath touched my skin, my body would heat up as her lips pressed against my flesh. Just the thought of it made my knees weak.

Lady Dimitrescu lifted me onto her lap, bringing my wrist to her lips after I was settled. She took a deep breath in before wrapping her lips around the wound, making me look away. My cheeks began to heat up when her hand pressed gently to the small of my back, her other hand gently caressing my arm to keep it still.

Each swallow was like a throb in my core. Once she had her fill and pulled her lips away, she dabbed the blood away from her lips before wrapping my wrist up, a soft hum leaving her as she did so.

"Tell me, [Y/N], are you afraid of me?" Her gold eyes pierced my soul, freezing me as I stared at her in confusion.

I must have looked pretty lost at her question because she started laughing shortly after asking, her right hand gently caressing my face. My head tilted slightly, finally finding the courage to speak and answer her question.

"I'm afraid of what you can do, but I'm not afraid of you," I stated, staring into her eyes. "I understand that you could easily kill me and that is scary, but, I haven't messed up yet nor have you or the girls given me a reason to suspect I should be afraid of dying at your hands anytime soon."
