Daniela Dimitrescu. She loved books, she could sing, she very obviously loved blood and hunting with her older sisters, but she also had a little crush on one of the maids. That maid being you. She hid it well — from everyone.

When spring came around, she was at her happiest. She got to be out in the garden — got to see you work in the garden and even named a few of the ones she really liked. Occasionally you'd hear her singing when it was just the two of you outside and her voice melted your heart, further ensnaring you into staying at the castle.

You had been working at the castle for a year now, being hired as a gardener to help the lady keep her plants healthy and tend to the vineyard. Today being the first day of spring meant the girls couldn't come outside until the sun was higher in the sky, which also meant that you had time to work on the vineyard.

You knew what the ladies were and how they made their wine, but you honestly didn't care. Humans had wronged you all your life, why should you care what happened to them? They judged and outcasted you for being born. If it hadn't been for mother Miranda, you would've died as a baby. You owed everything to her and the four lords.

Once you had finished working on the vineyard, a fly landed on your shoulder and a tired smile stretched across your face. The swarm soon stopped next to you; faint buzzing could be heard coming from Daniela.

"There you are!" She chirped, looping her arm through yours. "Come now, it's time for you to eat!"

"Lady Daniela..." You started, getting cut off when she started dragging you away.

Once she came to a stop, she shoved you in a chair and ordered a maid to get you some food. You blinked up at her, trying to stand up only to freeze when her sickle was held to your throat, her gaze narrowing at you until you sat down again.

"Lady Daniela-." You were cut off by the maid returning with food for you, gently taking the plate from her. "Thank you."

The maid bowed and scurried off, leaving you alone with Daniela. When you opened your mouth to speak, she narrowed her eyes at you once more, earning a quiet laugh before you started eating. You finished eating and Daniela yelled for a maid, gently pulling you to your feet once the maid took the plate and scurried off. She pulled you towards the garden, stopping in front of the roses.
