Last Part: "It'll be great for you, and I know the girls will love it. I know I do."

"MAMA! MOTHER!"

"Oh no," I groaned and buried my face against Alcina's shoulder. "Your daughters are up."

"Our daughters."

"They're yelling early in the morning," I growled. "They're your daughters."

"Don't growl at me," Alcina laughed. "I'll see what they're yelling about."

"Only wake me if it's life or death."

I rolled away from Alcina when she got up, letting sleep welcome me once again. The rest didn't last long, however, since I was woken by buzzing. I squealed when my heat was replaced with three cold bodies huddling at my side, causing my eyes to fly open. The triplets struggled to get close to me, my mind processing that their bodies were colder than normal a split second later.

"Alci?!" I called, concern lacing my voice as I moved to lie on my back, letting the girls huddle into me easier.

"Some maid left their window unlocked," Alcina hissed, her eyes glowing from the darkness of the room.

"It was probably the new girl," I sighed, rubbing the girls' backs to give them more warmth. "Just... Lock her in the basement? It's our family day, remember?"

"...Alright. I'll be right back."

"Might as well make your signature hot chocolate while you're passing through the kitchen. For the girls."

"Yeah!" They giggled against me.

"Four against one is hardly fair."

"Mama right!"

Alcina laughed as she left the room. "As long as you three are good while I'm gone!"

The triplets grumbled about always being good before they went back to cuddling me, Daniela nuzzling between Bela and Cassandra. 'Right, they're probably afraid of the window now,' I kissed their heads once they were settled, smiling at how they tried to make sure Daniela was the most covered. 'Already trying to protect Dani.'

A few minutes went by before Alcina returned, a cart of hot chocolate being pushed in with her. I carefully sat up and kept the girls close, letting them climb into my lap while their mother organized everything. Daniela pulled the blanket up to her chin and leaned against me, waiting for her mother to hand out the cups and join us.

Alcina joined us on the bed and handed the girls their cups, letting Bela settle between us while Cassandra moved to her mother's lap. Once they were cuddled into us, Alcina grabbed a book and began reading to them, bringing a smile to my face. 'Reading to calm them down, perfect. I'll plan lunch in the process.' As Alcina continued the story, Daniela grabbed my hand in her free one and squeezed it.

'I'm glad I'm used to their tight grips because they certainly don't know their strength,' I thought while biting back a wince. 'Doesn't mean it doesn't hurt.' Her grip loosened after a minute and she looked up at me, making me send her a smile and kiss her head. My heart melted at the worried look in her gold eyes, making me turn and lift her to kiss her cheek.

"It's okay, I'm okay," I promised her and nuzzled my nose against her cheek. "You're still really strong."

"Mama strong baby!"

"Yes, you are," Daniela giggled as I kissed her cheek. "You're my strong baby."

"I Mama smart baby," Bela grumbled, making me pull her close and kiss her head.

"You're my very smart baby."

"And me?" Cassandra pouted, her head resting on Alcina's shoulder.

"You're my shiny baby. You love all of our shiny jewelry."

"And me?" Alcina teased.

"You're the baby that I decided to raise a family with."

"That was your first mistake. Now you're stuck here."

"Yeah!" The triplets giggled in agreement.

I laughed and held Daniela and Bela close, leaning against Alcina after. "You call it a mistake, I call it the best decision I ever made."

"Mama stay. Forever." The triplets pouted.

"You have my word," I promised and kissed their heads. "Now, how about Mother here finishes the story for us?"

"Yes!"

Alcina laughed but started reading again until it was time to start lunch. I let her get out of bed and take the girls, allowing me to get out after them. Once I was out, Daniela reached for me — leaning for me until I laughed and took her from Alcina. She giggled and nuzzled into my neck as I carried her, making me squeeze her gently.

'An eternity like this would be nice,' I smiled and looked at the girls. 'But they can't be little forever.' When we reached the kitchen, I sat Daniela with the others so they could watch. Alcina joined me as we began lunch — a simple "steak" meal for them and a sandwich for myself. 'I know they'll be upset I'm not eating more, but I'm not that hungry. Dinner will be large though, so they can't be too mad.'

I set the plates on a cart and pushed it out of the kitchen, making my way to the dining hall. Alcina joined with the girls, setting them in their seats while I set the table. Once everyone was settled, I took my seat next to Alcina — across from the girls — and smiled at the pouts of the triplets.

"I'm not hungry, girls," I sighed. "But I promise I'll eat more at dinner."

"Better!"

"Okay!" I laughed and turned my attention to Alcina. "How has your day off been?"

"Fantastic," She hummed and smiled at the girls. "The morning didn't go as planned, but at least they're alright and happy. Now, girls, enjoy your food. It took a lot for Mama to get these right."

The triplets giggled and started eating, allowing Alcina to talk about how the experiments were going. 'Not well,' seemed to be the consensus, sadly. 'Mother Miranda's not going to be happy if the results stay like this...' I frowned slightly as Alcina continued. 'I know she wants her daughter back, but is all of this death worth it?'

My gaze shifted to the triplets after that and a wave of guilt washed over me. 'But thanks to those experiments, I have my Alci and our girls... Not to mention their aunt and uncles — although I could do without Heisenberg being so... Him.' I smiled at Bela when she tilted her head at me, waving off her confused look.

"She's hoping to find a vessel before it's too late," Alcina sighed before sipping her wine. "But, I'm not sure how well that will go."

"We'll figure something out," I offered a smile as I spoke. "Anything to keep our family together."

"Agreed."
