Ever since you started working at castle Dimitrescu, you had special privileges. If you messed something up, lady Cassandra was always the first one there but she was never mad. She never even yelled at you but if any of the other maids simply breathed wrong, she'd hiss at them. You had overheard a few of the maids saying they think she has a crush on you but, you didn't believe that for a second. Why would one of the ladies fall for you anyway?

You had made a deal with one of the other servants - Isa - that if they could get proof that lady Cassandra had feelings for you, you'd confess to her. They were the only other servant with special privileges because they helped the matriarch of the castle make music during her free time. Right now, they were working on getting lady Cassandra closer to you for whatever plan they had.

As you made your way up the stairs to the second floor so you could clean the Atelier, you noticed the door to the Hall of Joy fly open before Isa came into view. They pulled you towards them and glanced around, a wicked smile on their face.

"Do you trust me?"

"What?" You muttered out, hearing buzzing coming towards you. "What did you do?!"

"Do. You. Trust. Me?"

"I probably shouldn't but, yes, I trust you."

"Good. I'm sorry about this." Isa said before they shoved you back, causing you to bump into the railing.

The sound of buzzing grew louder as you heard wood snapping behind you. That's when you remembered that multiple maids had ended up running into it before being captured by the very vampire that was making her way to Isa. Your eyes widened as the railing gave out behind you, a scream leaving you as you noticed flies rush passed Isa. Buzzing and flies soon took over your senses, slowing your fall until your feet touched the ground.

You watched the flies form into lady Cassandra in shock; her arms were wrapped securely around your waist, keeping you flush against her body as she glared up at the railing. You let your gaze drift up to Isa, noticing their sheepish smile and the light pink dusting their freckled and scared cheeks. Before lady Cassandra could say anything, they took off running, earning a hiss from your lady.

"Are you alright?"

"I-I am... Thanks to you, my lady." You breathed out, locking eyes with her.

"First they hide my sickle and now this? They're spending a week in the cellar."

"This is my fault."

"No it's-."

"It is, actually... There were a few maids that said you had a crush on someone and... Some were saying it was me. I said that was ridiculous and, Isa was the only one brave enough to do something that could prove if it was true or not."

"Brave?! I'd say it was fucking stupid." You jumped slightly at her growl, finding it both hot and terrifying. "That fall could've killed you had I not saved you. What exactly were you thinking when you agreed to let them come up with this plan?!"

You stared in shock at her, noticing the anger and concern burning in her eyes. It broke you to see her like that - to know you being in danger caused her so much concern. Before you could even process it, tears were streaming down your cheeks and you had buried your face against her chest, muttering out apologies. Cassandra tensed the moment you did this before she began patting your back, letting her chin rest atop your head until you calmed down.
