"Mama!" You glanced up from your book as the sound of tiny feet running toward you reached your ears, pulling a smile onto your face when Bela rounded the corner. "Mama! Nap!"

"Nap time already?" You giggled and shut your book, lifting her once she was close enough. "And where are your sisters?"

"Mom!"

"With Alci? That woman and trying to juggle everything on her own," You sighed as you carried her out of the lounge. "Let's go get them."

Bela rested her head on your shoulder while you walked, a yawn escaping her tiny body. You pressed a kiss on her temple before opening the door to Alcina's study, smiling at the sleeping toddlers in her lap. Alcina lifted them carefully and carried them toward you, handing you Daniela before she held Cassandra close and ducked out of her study.

"You've been working all day," You commented as you began walking toward your room. "After Bela falls asleep, would you care to join me for a bath?"

"I have more work to do," Alcina sighed and you had to fight back a frown. "But do enjoy your bath for me."

"...The bath can wait then. I'll just nap with the girls."

"Love-."

"When I wake up, I'll start on dinner. After dinner — and the girls are asleep — we'll have that bath."

"You're stubborn."

"As are you," You mused as she opened the door for you. "Go ahead and lay Cassandra down, I'll adjust the girls once I'm ready to join them."

You carefully placed Bela and Daniela in the bed, waiting for Alcina to place Cassandra with them before you pulled the blanket up to their chests. Alcina lifted you and pulled you in for a gentle kiss, pulling a smile onto your face as you returned it. Your arms snaked around her neck as the kiss broke, a content sigh leaving you both.

"Try not to work yourself too hard," You murmured and pecked her lips. "Please? For myself and the girls?"

Alcina chuckled as she set you down. "I promise I won't. Miranda just has a lot of new test subjects for us."

"Of course she does."

"I know you don't-."

"I understand where she's coming from, but messing with life and death... The balance of everything... That has serious consequences."

"We would do the same for each other and the girls," Alcina pointed out, pulling a sigh from you. "I'm right and you know it."

"I hate when you're right," You grumbled as you moved to the side of the bed closest to the window — even though you and Alcina kept it shut and locked, you didn't want to risk the window blowing open and the girls getting hurt. "I guess that's also why I haven't stopped her yet."

"Perhaps," Alcina mused as she watched the triplets move closer to you before they began purring. "I'll try to hurry."

"Take your time. I'll be hoarding our daughters until then."

Alcina chuckled before giving you a final kiss, letting you hold the girls closer to your body. Once the door shut behind her, you let your gaze shift to the toddlers next to you, a content smile pulling onto your face. You planted kisses on their heads before joining them in slumber — after making sure they wouldn't be hit with cold air if the window somehow opened.
