You had promised Daniela that if you didn't have a date by Valentine's day that you'd happily plan something with her but, a week before the date, you began receiving letters from a secret admirer. It was obvious that whoever it was, was trying to make you think that it was lady Cassandra sending them to you. You even asked a few of your friends if they had noticed any of the maiden's going near your room with letters or anything.

For a few days, they all said the same thing; none of the maid's had done it. Until two days ago. You had been told that there was a maid spotted near your room -- which meant you could finally find out who had been sending you those letters. But, almost as soon as you had found out, the maid went missing.

It wasn't an uncommon thing, maids went missing all the time in the castle, but what had shocked you the most was when you retired to bed for the night. You noticed a box on your nightstand, your heart nearly skipping a beat when you got closer to it and saw 'From, Cassandra' scrawled neatly onto a piece of paper on the box. When you opened the box and noticed the beating heart. You took a few steps before bumping into something cold, your heart stopping for a moment.

"I don't appreciate people pretending to be me," Cassandra's voice whispered next to your ear, her arms snaking around your waist. "Especially when they falsify love letters to someone."

"I figured they weren't from you." You whispered out, tensing slightly when her lips brushed over the shell of your ear.

"I read some of what she wrote to you."

"Y-you did?"

"Mhm. I must say, she wasn't too far off but, I still had to send a message."

"By cutting her heart out and leaving it in a box on my nightstand?"

"Yes. It was a message to the maids and to you."

"To me? W-why?" You stuttered out, heat creeping up your neck when she began planting kisses along your jaw.

"Isn't it obvious? I never said that she was wrong about me having feelings for you." Cassandra giggled out, her lips trailing down to your neck. "Just that some things were falsified."

You tilted your head and let her continue to press kisses on your neck, shuddering when one of her hands moved down your thigh and began slowly lifting your uniform. Her hand stopped once it rested on your waist, a low hum leaving her at your broken sigh. It was obvious to you that she was holding back and very much enjoying your reactions to her touch. Every shuddering sigh, soft whimper, or needy press into her caused her to smirk or giggle and only resulted in your already racing heart to skip a few beats.

When her fangs scraped over your skin, you knew she was getting excited as well, having seen her fangs on multiple occasions when she was looking for a maid she desperately wanted to torture or kill. Your assumption was proven true by her finally pressing into you in return and her grip on your waist tightened. A faint smirk tugged at the corner of your mouth when an idea popped into your head, causing you to pull out of her grasp -- earning a low growl from the vampire.

"Get back here." Cassandra growled out, gold eyes narrowing as you made your way to your door.

"In a moment." You mused, making sure your door was locked before heading over to your nightstand. "Now, what was the real reason you decided to leave this here, hm?"

"A confession."

"Now, now, my lady. No need to tell me half-truths."

"How did you-?"

"I'm not as naive as you may think." You giggled, slowly removing your uniform. "So, are you going to tell me the full truth or should I just get ready for bed?"

Cassandra stayed silent for a moment before stalking towards you, a hungry gleam in her eyes. With each step she took forward, you took one back until you bumped into your nightstand. You watched as she slowly removed her gloves before planting her hands on either side of you, trapping you between her and the nightstand. She leaned down and let her lips brush over yours, the hunger in her eyes growing more intense as she spoke again.

"If you even think I'm going to let you get dressed again, you're surely mistaken. I've waited a long time for this and that maid nearly ruined everything Dani and I had planned. You're not getting dressed until--." She paused and glanced over her shoulder at the door, a low growl leaving her and sending a shudder down your spine.

"Wh-what is it?" You asked hesitantly, swallowing thickly when her jaw clenched and a snarl left her, allowing you to see her fangs.

"I have to go. I'll make everything up to you on Valentine's day. Be glad you have the day after it off."

"Why?"

"Because I'm going to do unspeakable things to you."

After that, she grabbed the box and left your room, leaving you a trembling mess as you stared at the space she had just been standing in. You let out a shaky breath before making your way to your bathroom, trying to not think about what Cassandra had planned for you. There was a knock at your door that caused you to put on a robe and go check it, coming face-to-face with Daniela who had a knowing grin on her face.

"Judging on Cassandra's stupid grin and your racing heart, I'd say she finally confessed in her own way." Daniela giggled, confusion quickly taking over her features. "Why does your room smell like blood?"

"Because your sister left a heart in a box on my nightstand as part of her confession." You stated, laughing at her shocked expression.

"She did what?!"

"It was... Still beating too. She tried."

"I am so sor-."

"Don't apologize. She just has her own way of expressing herself. I knew this when I fell for her and, although it shocked me at first, it's kind of cute how she'd kill someone just to send me a gift."

"She sent you a still-beating heart and you're calling it cute? ...The two of you really are made for each other." Daniela muttered with an exasperated sigh.

"I thought you'd be happy that I found it cute." You laughed out, rubbing the back of your neck. "But seriously, Dani, it's no big deal. I figured the maid would die anyway just for impersonating your sister, the fact that I got a confession from it as well? That's a bonus. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to get ready for bed."

"Fine. I take it our 'date' on Valentine's day is off?"

"I'll make it up to you this weekend, okay? I'm still curious to know what the hopeless romantic has in store for a Valentine's day date. I'm sure Cass won't mind."

"She already knew the plan and was fine with it so, she better let me take you on that date. That way I can tell you stories about her."

"Oh, now she's definitely not stopping that date from happening." You both laughed before saying good night to each other.

'I still can't believe she cut out the maid's heart and gave it to me.'
