'She's been alive all of this time? Why... why didn't she..?'

You let your gaze drop as anger filled you, causing you to take deep breaths in hopes of calming down. There was a good reason as to why she didn't continue — there had to be. The two of you were in love, surely she wouldn't just forget about you — especially since she decided to sing with you. Her head shifted slightly and you could've sworn she was looking directly at you. You moved to a different tree and her head shifted slightly again, confirming that she could see you.

'I guess this means I should go get answers.'

After taking a deep breath, you floated over to her window and were finally able to get a close look at her. The green eyes that had captivated you from the beginning were now predator gold, sending a shiver down your spine when your [E/C] ones locked with them. You were right about her being around the same height as a god — meaning you wouldn't have to stay confined to human height if the two of you got together again. Alcina slowly lifted a hand to your cheek before freezing, her head quickly turning so she could glance at the door.

You were pulled inside the room in an instant — the window quickly shutting before she called for whoever was on the other side of the door to enter. Three women in black dresses came in with wide, bloody smiles that quickly disappeared upon seeing you. Confusion, anger, and intrigue appeared on the faces of the three respectively. You glanced down at the way Alcina was holding you and you felt heat rush to your cheeks. She easily cradled your human form in one arm, holding you against her chest.

'Okay, maybe being held like this isn't that bad.'

"Mother," The three said in unison, causing your heart to stop immediately. "Who is this?"

'...Mother? Is that why? Is there a...? No. She doesn't swing that way — that much I know.'

"...An old friend of mine." Alcina's answer was like an arrow to your heart, causing you to stare at the wall instead of her or her daughters. "Did you three need something? I'd like to catch up with her."

"...Are you sure she was just a friend?"

"Yeah, you never mentioned anyone that looked like them when you told us stories of your past."

"And you definitely wouldn't keep holding them like that if she was just your friend."

"...Rooms. Now."

You glanced over at the three and noticed faint smirks on their faces before they left, leaving you alone with their mother. Alcina carried you to a bed before setting you down on it, a soft grumble leaving you at how large the bed was compared to your human form. You glanced up at her and noticed the amused look in her eyes — the same look she used to give you whenever someone would openly flirt with her in front of you and you had to try and hide your annoyance.

"Still as adorable as—."

"Shut up." You cut her off with a growl, sending a glare her way. "You had YEARS to do that again and yet you wait until I show up again?! Did what we have mean noth—."

She gripped your neck and effectively cut you off, regret immediately filling her eyes as she released your throat. "...I'm sorry... Force of habit now. Please, let me explain."
