Last Part: "Then why'd you leave? Why'd you come here?"

"...To remember the child I lost."

POV: Miranda

'What?!' I tensed at [Y/N]'s words, regret burning inside me even more than when my words originally left me. 'Even more of a reason for me to have never said that last night...' My hands clenched into fists at the memory.

"[Y/N]..." I breathed before clenching my jaw. "How do you not hate me after last night?!"

"Mira..." They sighed. "You didn't know, because I don't like telling the story. They aren't blood, but I raised them for five years — after they were repeatedly abandoned in the forest."

"That doesn't matter — I should've never said that, any of it. Maybe I could-."

"Mira, no. Look at what you had to go through to get Eva back — how many lives you took... They would never want that to be the reason they were brought back to me. Let me just... Stay here a bit longer, okay? I'll be back home in half an hour."

"...Okay," I muttered before pecking their lips. "I love you."

"I love you too."

Mia cleared her throat before grabbing [Y/N]'s jaw and pulling them in for a tender kiss. "Don't be late, okay?"

"Y-yes ma'am."

POV: First Person

I glanced down at my lap with a smile as the two left — waiting until I was alone before moving over to the circle of stones that served as the marker for their grave. 'An empty grave, but a grave nonetheless,' I thought with a frown. 'Still... I saw that woman again before I noticed their body was missing... Did she take it? If so, why? What did she do with it? And where is she now?' An orange flower caught my eye — remembering the little one finding a similar one a week before they died. 'It's been years since I've seen a flower like this...'

After picking the flower, I made my way back to our house, letting out a low sigh at the ache in my chest. 'You never got to pick a name for yourself, little one,' I frowned as the image of Lycan holding the child's lifeless body resurfaced. 'Hopefully in your next life...'

I froze when I entered the house and noticed rose petals leading to the bedroom, making me roll my eyes with a smile. 'How cheesy,' I mused, locking the front door before following the petals. 'But, it's her way of apologizing.' Once the door to our bedroom was in front of me, I leaned toward the door and listened for my girlfriends.

"Mia."

"Hm?"

"Do you have the collar ready?"

'A collar?' I gently bit my lower lip in anticipation.
