"I-I'll be right back. Don't move." I said and quickly made my way to Gus who was dancing with Caleb, a foot away from where me and Sam were dancing, not taking my eyes off of the two people.

I watched as they made eyes contact with me from across the room and smirked before they started walking towards us.

I repetitively tapped Gus's arm, desperately trying to get his attention, keeping my eyes on the two devils making their way towards us.

"What scarlet, what?!" He said. I pointed at who I was looking at and his eyes went wide.

"Oh shit! We need to go. Right now. Get Colby and Sam, I'll get everyone else. Hurry up and meet us at the cars." He said and I nodded, quickly grabbing Sam's arm and pulling him.

"Whoa whoa whoa what are you doing?" Sam asked. "No time to explain." I said and quickly made my way to Colby who was talking to Kat.

"We need to go. Now." I said sternly. "What why?" Colby asked but I ignored him, turning to Kat and gesturing behind Sam.

Her eyes went wide and she grabbed Sam's wrist, me grabbing Colby's and we sped walked through the crowd.

We got outside and saw everyone else waiting. "What the hell are they doing here?!" Tom asked. "I have no idea but we need to go befo-" of course I was interrupted.

"Oh Scarlet! Tom, Caleb, Gus, Katrina, long time no see!" We heard from behind us. "Not long enough." I mumbled through gritted teeth.

I closed my eyes and slowly turning towards the two back stabbing bitches, putting on my best fake smile. Riley and Deena.

"Hi, good bye." I said and then gestured to everyone that we needed to go. "Oh but why so quickly? And who are these two fine pieces of meat?" Deena said.

"These are mine and Katrina's boyfriends now excuse us. We were just leaving anyways." I said as calmly as possible.

"But-" Riley tried to say but I cut her off. "No. Goodbye." I said and turned, trying to walk away.

"Scarlet we just want to be your-" Deena started but I interrupted her. "Don't you dare try to say 'friend' because you're anything but one. Now, we're leaving and for the last time. Good. Bye." I said.

"Whatever, we just came here to get to your boyfriend. He's kinda cute. Hey hottie! Leave her for us, I promise we're worth it. A lot better than she is at least. I mean come on, she's ugly, bitchy, and belongs in a crazy person place." I stopped dead in my damn tracks.

"Nah, you're just jealous. Scarlet is waaaay better than you." Colby said and chuckled, the girls scoffed. "You don't know what you're missing! Scarlet is nothing compared to us!" Denna said. "Yeah, she isn't. She's better." Colby said with a smirk while looking at me, causing me to smile and blush a little.

"UGH WHATEVER!" They yelled and then stormed back inside. We all laughed and then ran to the car.

We got in and drove off. "So... who was that?" Sam asked after a few minutes. "Those were my ex best friends... Riley and Deena. They left me and are rude so... yeah. But they hurt me really bad. Especially Riley." I said and looked down, feeling the sadness from the memory creep up on me. I felt two people grab both of my hands and give them a squeeze, causing me to look up and see Gus and Caleb's hands in mine.

They gave me reassuring smiles and the sadness went away. See the thing is, when it first happened, I was so heart broken and I missed them so so much. But later on I realized that I had Gus and Caleb, the people that have been there since day one, the people that always make me happy, my bestest friends. I realized that Gus and Caleb were my forevers, my real best friends, and that's what helped me cope.

After that, I've felt better since.

"What did they do?" Colby asked. "Well, okay here it goes, so basically back in school I was friends with those two and then two other girls. Well, one day Deena came up to me and told me that Riley was talking shit behind my back. So, I told Riley that I just wanted to be friends and she over reacted, started balling her eyes out and drawing a crowd. Well, her friends started coming up to me and harassing me, saying that I'm a terrible person for not being her friend and blah blah blah," I said.

"Well, me and Deena stayed friends and a year later, me and Riley reunited. It's a funny story actually, but I'll tell that another day. Anyways, Deena wasn't too happy about the news later but eventually, the three of us became inseparable. About another year later, in the summer we were always hanging out and stuff. Well, we were at the park when they went off on their own and were whispering and not including me." I said.

"I shook it off, not wanting to get mad over something small. Well the next day, we went to the mall to go Christmas/normal shopping and every time we went to a store they wanted to go to, I would stay with them, but whenever we went to a store I wanted to, they would go off on their own. Long story short, I got angry, they were being secretive, and they weren't talking to me like we had used to. Later on I was told multiple times by different people that it was time that we took a little break. So we did. That quickly ended though, us all admitting that we needed each other or some bull crap." I said and rolled my eyes.

"They apologized for not talking or answering and being secretive and stuff, blaming it on "oh we were just planning on what to get you for your birthday." That's what they said, except that was in October, my birthday is in January." I said and sighed.

"I believed them and then continued the friendship except they didn't keep our promise and we started getting to fights over the dumbest things all the time which caused another break. This one lasted for much longer, to the extent that we ended our friendship with a nasty bang. Riley had blamed me for talking crap about her, wanna know who she got that from? Deena, and the two other girls who I had just ended the friendship with." I said and shivered at the memory.

"A few months later and I found myself balling my eyes out because I missed Riley so much. As much as the three of us were close, me and Riley were the closest. There's no doubt in that. So, I called her and tried to tell her that it was a lie and how it was fishy that back then Denna told me that Riley was talking crap me, and now she's telling Riley that I'm talking crap about her. Her exact words were literally "I know, I know but-" like if you 'know' then why the hell are you still friends with her!?" I said, raising my voice a little bit, before taking a deep breath and continuing.

"Long story short, she denied the friendship, and I called her three other times through the span of time. I even texted her a shit ton of paragraphs saying how I was sorry and it wasn't my faults and that I really wanted to try the friendship again. And each time she declined." I said and sighed.

"It broke me. It hurt more than my mother ever has. She ligit broke my heart. She was like my sister, she was like the Sam to my Colby, yet she left me for the backstabbing, lying, fake, jealous bitch!" I said, becoming very upset.

I took another deep breath, this time closing my eyes and really trying to relax myself before I opened my eyes and put on a small smile. "But, then I realized that Gus and Caleb are my real best friends, screw Riley and Deena because I have them." I said and smiled a real and genuine smile at Gus and Caleb.

I truly don't know what I would do without them.
