Ren sat at the edge of the stage with his legs swinging idly, "Hey Pa'...?"

Macaque glanced up from from his spot, leaning against the edge of the stage while drawing out his next performance's poster, "Yeah?"

Ren glanced down at his fingers and started twiddling them, a anxiety fidget of his, "Is something wrong with me...?"

Macaque stopped in his writing and stared up at the nervous smile that broke the boy's face. He put the marker down and made his way over to stand in front of the demon child, "No." He cupped his paws on his cheeks affectionately, "Nothing is wrong with you. Your just adapting slowly to your environment and it's putting some strain on you. You'll push past it."

Ren felt his brows furrowed as he grabbed the simian's hands with a sad frown, "Pa'... I know..."

Macaque felt his chest twist at that. He wasn't able to hide his kit from the harsh reality.

Ren gave his father's hands a small squeeze, "I can feel her creep through my mind... I can feel her grip my soul in her frozen clutches... Its like I have this pull and yank of a chain wrapped around my heart and mind..." He placed a hand softly on his chest, "It's scary... I feel like I'm about to taken away from my family any moment now.."

Macaque frowned and brought the boy into a tight hug, "You won't be taken.... And even if you were.. You'd fight." He gently nudged his forehead against the young boy's head, "You'd fight your damn hardest because that's the kind of boy I raised. A very strong hearted boy who'll do anything for his family."

Ren smiled at his statement and grinned, "I'll ignite the whole world on fire for you, Ma', MK, Mei, and even the little girl that Ma' wants to save."

Macaque didn't say anything about his declaration, but kept Ren's head close to his shoulder, "Me and your Ma' will forever look for you. We'd go through the Great Heavens and back for you."

Ren giggled at that and nuzzled his face into Macaque's scarf. His scent bringing a wave of comfort to the kit as he relaxed in his father's hold.

Macaque decided that they'll stop here today and return home. Picking up the boy, Macaque carried the boy, koala style, with his hands running through his curls easily.

Ren couldn't help but feel deja vu when he watched Macaque's tail sway from his perspective, over the simian's shoulder.

Running down the streets, the little demon couldn't comprehend all the new sounds and strange buildings that could have possibly reached the heavens.
