   This is it. Today's the day. I'm gonna go right up to him and declare my love right then and there and tell him the truth about him being my mate! Natsu determinedly looked at the doors of the guild. He was about to walk right in until he did a u-turn. No, no, no, no! I can't do that! He pulled at his hair worriedly. What if it's a mistake? What if he doesn't want me. Or if it ruins our friendship, rivalry? Or whatever our relationship is? I don't even know anymore after these feelings started up. Igneel told me some stuff about mates and what it'll do if the dragons get rejected. He stopped circling. Natsu's heart started pounding. What if he does reject me? His eyes started to water. He shook his head to get rid of them. No need to worry, Natsu! You can do this, even if it does ruin our relationship, he'll still know no matter what! He took in a deep breath. He busted through the doors.

   Everyone looked at him and then continued chatting and doing their thing. He searched around for the ice block. Aha! He spotted the raven haired sitting with Warren and Elfman, chatting. Gray must've sensed him coming. He sighed, "What do you want flamebrain?" Natsu kept eye contact, "Can we talk?" Gray finally looked at him, "We are talking." Natsu was getting annoyed already, "This is serious, there's something important I need to tell you." Gray sighed again, "Fine, tell me." Natsu started to get nervous, "Can we go somewhere private first?" Gray let Natsu lead them.

   "Alright, what's so important that you wanna tell me?" Natsu shuffled a bit. Then he finally told him, "I love you, Gray, and you're my mate." There was silence. Natsu started shaking. He was positive he got rejected. He knew he was going to. "I'm sorry, but I can't return your feelings." Natsu looked up at Gray for the first time after getting there. He breathed in a shaky gasp. "I just can't," Gray continued. Natsu felt a cold breeze go past him. Gray was gone. His shaking got worse and he fell to his knees. Tears fell. He, he got rejected.
