Jennie?

It was a quarter to seven when she arrived at Jisoo's apartment. She texted Taehyung,

I am outside.

A few minutes later, Taehyung came to pick her up downstairs. Jennie smiled at him awkwardly, tried so hard to follow his pace. She wanted them to walk as fast as possible to see Jisoo now.

"I am glad you're here."

"Mhm."

"I've been with her since noon after I picked up Dalgom, her dog," he looked tired, "But you know... it's inappropriate for me to stay for the night."

The jerk is not that jerky after all, Jennie thought.

"I think she needs to be taken care tonight, she needs to take her medicine every 8 hours."

"Okay." Jennie answered briefly.

They arrived at Jisoo's room. Jennie hurriedly put the meals on the table and came towards Jisoo's bed.

She saw Jisoo was sleeping; she looked coated and her face looked more pink than usual. Jennie gently put her palm on her forehead, it was dry and hot. She was worried.

"When did the last time you take her temperature?"

"About 30 minutes ago. It was concerning, 39°"

Jennie took Jisoo's hand and squeezed it. Her hand was drooping weak. She looked at her face for sometime.

"I brought her dinner," Jennie said to Taehyung.

"She can eat it anytime now. She needs to take her medicine after that, at around 8"

Jennie looked up to Taehyung, "I will take care of her tonight. You can go home."

"Okay. You know my number in case you need anything. Dalgom is with me, in my house." Taehyung went to the door and put on his shoes.

Tae?"

"Yes?"

"Uhm, thank you," Jennie said almost whispering, "for taking care of her and... for calling me."

"No, thank you." He smiled and he was about to close the door, "Oh and, Jennie?"

Jennie turned her head to him, "Yes?"

"She called your name while she was sleeping. That was also why I decided to text you." He gave Jennie a half smile and closed the door.

Jennie took the meals she brought to the kitchen, she prepared the porridge, the soup, a cup of remedy tea and a glass of warm water and took it to Jisoo.

She tried to wake Jisoo up, "Jisoo? Can you hear me?"

Jisoo didn't respond, she tried again, "Jisoo?"

"Jennie?" Jisoo responded, calling her name, Jennie wasn't sure if she was in delirium or she could really hear her. Her eyes were still closed but Jennie could see some movement.

"Can you wake up?"

"Jennie?" This time Jisoo moved her head and frowned, trying to locate the source of the voice.

"Yes it's Jennie." she felt a tug in her heart. "Can you wake up? You need to eat."

Jisoo tried to open her eyes, she was sweating but her mouth was dry. Jennie helped her to sit on her bed against the wall. Her eyes were still closed.

"Jisoo, I will give you water." she took the glass and put it close to her mouth. Jisoo opened her mouth and Jennie helped her to drink.

Jisoo looked weak, Jennie had to help her to sit still while feeding her. After only a few bites, Jisoo refused to eat more. She didn't want to open her mouth.

"Jisoo, can you open your mouth? You need to take more."

"Jennie?" Jisoo opened her mouth and she tried to open her eyes. She saw Jennie. Is that really Jennie? Where are we?

Jennie was feeding her again, it was especially hard to feed her the soup since Jisoo kept fighting the spoon by clenching her mouth.

Jennie looked at the food, she decided that Jisoo had taken enough, so she gave her water and let her stay sit for a few minutes before she could lay down.
