Jisoo once again opened the jewelry box, she was still mesmerized by the beauty of the locket. She took it out carefully from the box and lifted it up above her head to see how the crystal and the gold reflected the lights. She was in her room; home for Christmas.
She did it. She had been saving since summer for this, thanks to the generous pay from JNK Corp during her service as Jennie's driver.
Ever since the day when she was sick that summer, Jisoo had been thinking to buy Jennie more than just an ice cream. She needed to give her something to express more than an apology. But that summer, she couldn't afford to offer Jennie more than an ice cream and an apology.
Jennie must had realized that Jisoo wasn't good with words. Jennie said she couldn't flirt, she couldn't communicate her feelings well. Maybe she was right. Or maybe it was because Jisoo found all words were too shallow to express everything's Jennie in her eyes.
She put the locket back into the box and she smiled. She'd been working hard for this. She'd been working as a lab assistant for one professor and a teaching assistant for another. She had been giving tutorials to some first years to make some more money and she had been skipping a few gatherings with The Dorks in order to save up.
She hoped the locket itself would communicate her feelings well to Jennie. It was the most expensive thing she had ever bought, it was even more expensive than her phone. She was proud of herself.
Jisoo closed her eyes and lied on her bed. Dalgom went to her side to get some hug and pet; so Jisoo hugged him tight. It was warm here, it was warm in her heart.
Jisoo couldn't wait for 25th. She couldn't wait to say the word.
The question was, would she be able to say the word in front of Jennie?
