Both Jisoo and Jennie are the freshmen in the university. Jisoo is a Science student and Jennie is an International Business student. Jisoo has a small circle and Jennie is popular. They're two worlds apart but colliding into a bittersweet relations...
It was 9 PM when Jisoo and Jennie finally arrived at Jisoo's apartment. Jisoo parked the car just in front of the building; they both sat silently, reluctant to say goodbye.
"I could've taken the bus instead."
"It's not like it's too late already, Jisoo."
"Drive home safe, okay?"
"Are you going inside now?"
Jisoo paused, "Not yet."
"Do you have a morning class tomorrow?"
"Yes, 8 AM. You?"
"At 9 AM," Jennie paused, she still didn't want to let go.
"Do you want to go inside now?"
"Do you want me to go now?"
"No. Stay." Jennie pleaded, "For another minute."
They stayed for another hour in the car. And when it was time for Jennie to drive home, both of them silently regretted how time ran too fast.
The day had ended. And so did the summer. The new season was about to start but the warmth of the summer stayed with them. However, this wasn't enough. A whole day together wasn't enough. And even if they repeated the day all over again, it probably wouldn't ever be enough.
They bade their goodbye and Jisoo had already missed her when she entered her room. She sat on the edge of her bed; the light was still off; she missed her already. But a mere friend can't say. So she just texted her: Jennie, It's Jisoo. Drive safe. And goodnight.
