And that was how their friendship evolved into something Jisoo couldn't identify. They weren't exactly lovers, but both knew they were more than just friends.

Ever since Jisoo tried to kiss Jennie, they treated each other differently. Jennie now wouldn't bother to steal a glance on her lips like she used to; she would just let her eyes landed on her lips for Jisoo to read what was in her mind. Jisoo now got the gut to hold Jennie's hand whenever she felt like it; which was not as often as she desired, since sometimes touching the girl was too much for Jisoo to handle.

On not so busy nights, Jisoo would call Jennie for hours, asking about her day. She started to have the courage to directly compliment Jennie for the Instagram pictures she posted and Jennie began to post more diligently. To gain more followers and get more exposure, she said. They started to hang out more. Sometimes it was only the two of them, sometimes they would hijack Lisa and Rosé's dates and turn them into double dates, sometimes Jennie would turn up at The Corners where Jisoo hung out with the dorks.

Slowly, Jennie got closer with Jisoo's friend, especially Bona. She identified her as a neutral ally; whereas Soojoo and Taehyung were the antagonists. The dynamics of her conflict with Soojoo had entered into a more subtle phase; both had an unspeakable agreement not to be too aggressive, especially when Jisoo was around. Nonetheless, her resentment towards Soojoo reached a new peak every time they met, to the point that hair-pulling was the only fit option for Jennie to channel the grudge she had for Soojoo; and the feeling was very much mutual.

The university life got even busier, especially for the science sophomores. Some of them were struggling with the transition. Unlike the first year, when they still had bird courses like Academic Writing, Science Ethics, etc; in the second year, only core courses were available and the students were expected to take more credits than their first year.

It was one of those days when Jisoo and friends spent the evening at the central library.

"Freedman said sophomores are the less satisfied students among the rest."

"Who is this Freedman?"

"A researcher."

"Stop feeding us unnecessary trivia, Tae. My brain capacity can't afford it." said Soojoo.

"My girlfriend is coming over."

"Rosé?"

Lisa nodded, "She's getting me coffee because I told her the coffee here sucks."

"Damn, I want a girlfriend too. Jisoo! Claim me now!" Soojoo turned toward Jisoo.

Jisoo just grinned.

"That grin means no, Soojoo, for your information." Taehyung said.

"As if she would say yes to you."

"Stop bickering, you two. Both of you are basically friend-zoned." Jinyoung said.

Few minutes later, a blonde came approaching their table, she smiled sweetly to Lisa with a coffee in her hand. A cat-eye girl was tagging along behind her, holding two coffee carriers with her.

"Lol, I knew it, Jennie is coming with Rosé." Soojoo grumbled.

Jisoo stood up, she walked to Jennie, trying to contain her happiness from seeing the gummy smiler.

Is she coming for me?

"Hi..." Jisoo took the carriers from Jennie.

"I bring coffee for you. And your friends."
