LUKANETTE S4 - MEGA LEECH - PT 1

In the girls' restroom at Françoise Dupont, Mylene is calming herself down in front of the mirror.

Mylene places her hand on her badge. 'I'm not scared, I can do this.' She places her hand on her chest. 'I'm not scared, I can do this. I'm not scared, I can do this.' She inhales and exhales. 'I'm not scared, I can do this.'

Mylene goes out of the locker room and into the courtyard, where Ivan with their poster signboards is waiting for her.

'Sorry, it took me so long, Teddy Bear' Mylene apologises.

Ivan smiles. 'No worries, you were quicker than ever. You keep getting better and better at this. I love you, little mouse.'

They kiss each other sweetly.

Meanwhile in Marinette's room, Mari was putting her hair in pigtails getting ready for school when she hears noise of a bulldozer starting up outside, so she goes to her balcony and sees Mayor Bourgeois speaking in front of the audience about the Project Oxygen at Place des Vosges.

'Some time ago, during our Space Dumpster Program, I promised Parisians the end of pollution. And now I'm keeping that promise with Project Oxygen!' He indicates the Project Oxygen. The audience took some photos. She sees what looks like Luka and a few other teens she'd never met before begin protesting the new project.

Mylene and Ivan hurry over. 'Oh no, they've started the presentation already!' Mylene said sadly. She gasps. 'But look Ivan! There's Luka, and other protestors here already! Let's join them!' she said excitedly, feeling less nervous with more support, as Ivan smiles and says, 'Right behind you, little mouse!' They join Luka and the others with their signs and join in their chant. 'Stop Project Oxygen! Stop Project Oxygen! Stop Project Oxygen! Stop Project Oxygen!'

Luka looks over at them and smiles, happy to see his friends there. A hippie looking girl with, medium brown shoulder length hair, brown eyes and green rimmed glasses looked at Mylene and smiled. 'Hi, I'm Amber! Good to see more fellow protestors here too!'

Mylene smiled back. 'Nice to meet you! Likewise, I'm Mylene! This is my boyfriend, Ivan!'

'I'm here with my boyfriend Joshua and my friends Luka and Owen from school! Luka has told me so much about you! It's nice to finally meet you!'

They continued their chant with Luka and the others. 'Stop Project Oxygen! Stop Project Oxygen!'

Mayor Bourgeois notices them and sighs. 'Officer Roger, please deal with those protesters.'

Roger hesitates. 'But Mr. Mayor, they're just kids.'

'They're protesters. Just do your job!' Mayor Bourgeois argues.

All the teens keep chanting. 'Stop Project Oxygen! Stop Project Oxygen! Stop- '

Roger interrupts them. 'Kids, uh, you need to leave now.'

Amber looks indignant. 'We can't, Officer. This is too important. They're planning to cut all these trees down.'

'Yeah, but ultimately, there'll be less pollution' Roger argues.

Mylene in anger replies, 'No, there won't! That's just what they want you to think!'

Mayor Bourgeois calls to him from the distance. 'Roger! Your job is not to chit-chat with the troublemakers but to maintain order.'

Roger sighs. 'Come on, kids. Let's be reasonable.'

Mylene, Amber and everyone pause for a while and then continue to protest. 'Stop Project Oxygen! Stop Project Oxygen!'

'Roger...' the Mayor calls out, losing his patience.

Roger groans. 'Please don't make this difficult!' he says.

He leads Ivan, Mylene and Amber to his police car. 'I only have room for three in my car, I will come back for the three of you' he says to Luka and the others.

Ivan, Mylene and Amber sit in the police car looking upset.

Roger gets in the car. 'Sorry, kids. I don't have a choice. I'm escorting you home to your parents.' He starts the engine and drives off.

'So, you're Luka's friend from school?' Mylene asked Amber.

'Yep! Me, Joshua, Owen and Luka go to the Conservatoire de Bordeaux Jacques Thibaud School of Performing Arts! I do interpretive dance, Joshua plays cello, Owen loves acting and well, you know Luka's love of music!'

Mylene giggled. 'Yeah! I had no idea there was anyone as passionate about the environment as me!'

'Yeah, same! Any friend of the trees is a friend of mine!' Amber grinned in reply.

'I don't think we made a difference though' Mylene said sadly.

'Don't give up yet Mylene! If there is a way to get more publicity, and more people and more adults on our side, then they will have to take us seriously!' Amber replied.

'But I tried to drum up support at school for the past six months, and nobody seemed interested' Mylene said sadly.

'Same here, my three friends from school were all I got too. But I never give up without a fight! We can still win, you'll see!' Amber says confidently.

Mylene and Ivan smile at Amber's cheerful optimism.

Marinette had seen the police car driving away with Mylene and Ivan from her balcony.

'Tikki, what should I do? Should I transform?' she asks her Kwami.

'I don't know, Marinette. Usually, the police deal with bad guys, but Mylene Ivan and Luka are good guys, right?'

'I'd better let Miss Bustier know about this! Let's go Tikki!'

She ran to school and got to the classroom as quickly as she could and ran up to Miss Bustier.

'Miss Bustier, I need to tell you something!' Marinette said breathlessly.

'Later Marinette, when the class representative does general business, I'm about to call the roll now!'

Marinette sighs and takes her seat.

Miss Bustier went through all the names. Then she called Mylene. 'Mylene Haprele?' The entire class startled up when they didn't see her. 'Mylene?'

Marinette spoke up. 'She and Ivan are not here. Officer Roger took her and Ivan home because, they were holding a sit-in and blocking a bulldozer.'

Miss Bustier was shocked. 'What?' The class all gasp.

Alya looks on her phone. 'Well, they must have been protesting the city's plan to rehabilitate Place des Vosges.'

Kim gasps and whispers to Max: 'What does rehabilitate mean?'

Alya reads the news article. 'It says here, Project Oxygen will be a breath of fresh air for Paris.'

Marinette was confused. 'A breath of fresh air? It's weird that Mylene and Ivan would be against it.'

Miss Bustier slams onto her desk. 'Regardless, Officer Roger has made a huge mistake!' She calls Roger on her cellphone.
