LUKANETTE S4 - GLACIATOR 2.0 - PT 4

Luka meanwhile had finished his deliveries for the day and wanted to surprise Mari with a bunch of tulips he bought at a florist. But he was surprised when he got to the bakery to see Marinette and Cat Noir talking together on the balcony. He hid in the shadows, just watching them for a little while.

I wish I could hear what they’re saying he wondered to himself.

Suddenly, Cat Noir jumped down and Mari went downstairs to meet him.

Luka silently followed them as they went to the bus stop.

Marinette and Cat Noir climb aboard a bus.
‘Is there a problem?’ Marinette asked.
‘Well, actually, I always travel by stick, I don't have change for a ticket!’ Cat Noir says.

‘This one's on me, Cat Noir! You've saved us so many times, it's the least I can do!’ the bus driver says.

‘Thanks! I me-owe you one!’ Cat Noir replies.

‘You're welcome!’ the bus driver replies.

‘Bravo, Cat Noir, bravo!’ a commuter chimes in.

Marinette and Cat Noir walk to the back of the bus.

‘What movies are playing?’ Cat Noir asks, as Marinette checks her phone.

‘"Little Love Notes?” No, no romantic comedies. "Captain Supreme: the Ultimate Duel?"’

‘Could we possibly avoid films about superheroes?’ Cat Noir requests.

Marinette smiles. ‘Got it. What about "Sharktank vs. Mechatiger"?’

Andre is seen stopping by the bus window and notices the two of them, making him frown.

‘With a title like that, I think we should be safe!’ Cat Noir says.

Both of them chuckle, as Luka follows the bus on his bike. I wonder where they’re off to? He wonders to himself.
Luka sees them get out and head into the cinema together. He looks sad as he puts the bunch of tulips in the trash bin and cycles sadly back to the Liberty.

Inside the cinema, Marinette and Cat Noir sit beside each other.

Mechatiger from the movie screen: “Sharktank, don't die! I've always loved you!”

Sharktank from the movie screen: “Me too, Mechatiger, but it's impossible! We're sworn enemies!”

‘But they don't even have mouths! How are they supposed to kiss?’ Cat Noir asks.

‘Uh, it's been written in advance, so everything's planned out. But in real life, you have no idea how it's gonna go. Just because you tell someone you love them doesn't mean the other will love you back just like that!’ Marinette says.

‘Tell me about it. If only love could be so easy.’ Cat Noir replies, blushing slightly. 'I think that's why I have so much trouble telling my crush how I feel.'

‘That's why it's so scary to tell someone you love them. Even saving the world seems easy comparing to it. Well, I suppose it is. I mean, just look at you! When you have to save the world with Ladybug, you just bulldoze ahead, you don't think about it! A couple of jokes, and bam! Cataclysm, Lucky Charm, Miraculous Ladybug! And everything's back to normal. Easy as pie.’ Marinette smiles.
‘Yeah, that's the short version, but it sounds about right’ Cat Noir smiles back.

‘But telling someone you love them? If it doesn't work out, it's your heart that gets cataclysm-ed, and no Miraculous Ladybugs can repair that. That's why in the past, I never got anywhere with guys. When things are really important to me, I get so scared that it won't work out that I can't help trying to control every possible outcome! I tell myself stories with wedding dresses, and hamsters, and what people see is not Marinette opening her heart up. It's Marinette talking about some ridiculous nonsense she's made up. But, I like to think I’ve grown a lot since then.’

Cat Noir smiles. ‘I like hamsters, too!'

‘And I like to watch the movie in peace and quiet!’ the guy behind them called out.

‘Oops!’ they whisper as they both laugh.

After the movie finishes, Cat Noir and Marinette walk out as Cat Noir opens an umbrella from his baton as it has started raining.

‘You have an umbrella option in your stick?’ Marinette asks.

‘Well, yeah! Cats don't like water’ Cat Noir replies as the two of them begin to walk together.

‘So, do you think you’ll ever tell your crush how you feel?’ Mari asks him.

Cat Noir blushes. ‘I want to, but I don’t think she’d even be friends with me again if I did. And I wouldn’t want to lose her friendship.’

‘What’s her name?’ Mari asks.

‘Well, that’s private. But I guess her code name would be... Spring Flower. Because she’s as beautiful as a spring flower' he smiled.

‘I’m sure you’ll find someone who loves you for you, Cat Noir!’ Mari smiled.

‘In the meantime, I really feel like I let Ladybug down. I think she hates me.’ Cat Noir said sadly.

Marinette smiles. ‘I’m sure she doesn't hate you!’

‘She threw me in the trash today’ Cat Noir replies.

‘I’m sure she didn’t mean to. You're a good cat. I'm sure you'll figure out what to do!’ Mari replies.

André notices Marinette and Cat Noir together. ‘But it can't be! Ladybug and Cat Noir are supposed to be made for each other. I've lost my connection with my ice cream! I don't understand what it's trying to tell me anymore!’

In Shadowmoth's lair, the lair window opens for the second time.

‘Akumatization is like ice cream; once you've tasted it, you'll always come back for more!’ He creates an akuma and releases it. ‘Fly away, my evil akuma, and bring me back two scoops of despair!’

The akuma flies out of the window.

Meanwhile, Luka had cycled home on his bike and went sadly to his cabin and laid down on his bed and sighed.

Juleka was sitting at her dressing table brushing her hair. ‘What’s wrong bro?’ she asked him.

‘I wanted to surprise Marinette with flowers, but when I got there she was talking to Cat Noir on her balcony. Then they left and I followed them and they went to the movies together' he said sadly.

‘I’m sure it’s completely innocent bro. I know Mari, she loves you! You’re all she talks about at school, she thinks you were so brave when Shadowmoth captured us all in bubbles!’ Juleka replied.

‘But what if she’s replacing me with Cat Noir?’ Luka asked, with tears in his eyes.

‘That would never happen bro. Not in a million years. Trust me!’ Juleka replies, going over to comfort him with a hug.

‘Thanks Jules' Luka replies, but he still wasn’t convinced.
