Prologue - Part 10

After Master Fu had relinquished the miracle box to Ladybug and had lost his memory, both Ladybug and Cat Noir were quite sad about it but they knew it was for the best. Marinette detransformed in secret after dropping off and hiding the new miracle box in a dollhouse she was making in her room and went back to the park to see Luka. He hugged her.

'I know Ladybug saved the day because everything is back to normal' he said with a smile. 'I'm glad you were able to get away.'

'Thank you, Luka.' Marinette said gratefully. 'If you hadn't have shielded me, Hawkmoth would have found out my secret identity.'

'I'd do it again in a heartbeat Marinette' Luka said.

'Marinette...?' Luka said, pulling out of the hug.

'Yes, Luka?'

'When I was hypnotised... did I do anything... bad?'

Marinette smiled. 'No Luka. Well, nothing Ladybug couldn't handle anyway.'

Luka smiles and sighs with relief. 'Oh, thank goodness. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I let Hawkmoth hurt you.'

Luka hugged her again, never wanting to let her go.

'I love you Luka' Marinette whispered.

'I love you too Marinette' Luka whispered back.

He kissed her passionately as he held her in his arms.

After they pulled away, Marinette sighed. 'I've got even more responsibility now.' Marinette told him. 'You're looking at the new guardian of the miracle box.'

'Wow, really?' Luka said surprised.

'Yeah, it wasn't my choice. It was the old guardian. He lost his memory to protect the identities of the miraculous holders when he did so though. Although it was kinda my own fault that he had to in the first place.' She looked sad.

'Everyone makes mistakes Marinette' Luka smiled.

'Exactly! That's what he said too!' she replied.

'He sounds like a wise man then!' Luka giggled.

'If ever you feel too burdened though, let me know, I'll try to help you any way I can' Luka added.

'Thanks Luka, I appreciate that!'

'I just feel like you're taking on too much, I don't want you to burn yourself out' he said as he held her close.

'I'll have you and Marinette's Heartsong to relax me and keep me grounded' she smiled.

'That's true my love' Luka replied.

Marinette's phone beeped and she saw she had a message from Mr Fu's partner, Marinanne. She smiled.

'Say Luka, are you free tomorrow afternoon to see an old friend off at the train station?' Marinette asked.

'Sure, what time is their train?'

'Leaves at 3pm.'

'I'll pick you up at 2 and we can cycle there together if you want' Luka smiled.

'Sounds great! See you then!' Marinette smiled as she headed for home.

The next afternoon Luka picked her up at 2 and they cycled over to the train station.

Wang Fu was out the front waiting for her.

'Hello Mr Fu!' she called out.

'Hello Marinette, so nice of you to see me off! And who is this?'

'This is my boyfriend, Luka' Marinette said.
