About thirty minutes later, the three boys are heading out to the store. Neteyam attaches their raft to his skimwing, and while Aonung steps in, he pulls his brother close to whisper to him.Neteyam- He's not going to the store with us. I'm dropping him home, then we're heading to Yar's. Try not to get hit once he realizes that.
Lo'ak- Weren't we supposed to come back for breakfast?
Neteyam- Kiri won't let Tuk starve, let's go.
He quickly lets him go then hops on his skimwing, while Lo'ak stares at Aonung for a moment, fearing for his life. The thought of riding behind his brother comes to mind, but he decides to just get into the raft with a sigh.
Neteyam pulls off, heading down the stream feeling a little nervous about what he'll do, but he does think it best for the troubled boy.
As they take a familiar route, it doesn't take long for Aonung to start calling out to him, which makes Lo'ak flinch a little each time.
Luckily, the older Sully boy doesn't respond, since he doesn't want to start an argument while he's steering a raft, so Aonung soon goes quiet as they near his family's home.
After pulling around the platform and stopping in front of the mansion, Neteyam calmly hops onto the sidewalk, then stands facing Aonung, who's still in the raft looking displeased.
Neteyam- You know it's for the best.
Aonung- No it isn't.
Neteyam- It would be pretty cruel of you to just leave them like that. Your sisters would miss you. Plus, you can't just move in and kick my brother out.
Lo'ak- For real, man.
Looking tense, Aonung reluctantly comes out of the raft and walks up to him.
Aonung- My father's gonna kill me.
Neteyam- I'm sure you'll live. Just blame it on the alcohol.
He grabs the marine boy's hand and pulls him gently towards the steps.
Aonung- He'll chop me in the throat the moment I walk in.
Neteyam- Ao, you're being ridiculous. If anyone chops you in the throat it'll be your mother.
Aonung- Not in the mood for jokes, Teyam.
Neteyam- Sorry. I just thought it'd ease your mind a bit. I can see that you're nervous.
Once they reach the porch, Aonung places a kiss on Neteyam's cheek.
Aonung- Thanks for trying. Now, how long do we have to be here?
Neteyam- This is your home, Aonung.
Aonung- I know, but don't we have to go shopping?
Neteyam- I'm not taking you shopping with us this time.
He watches Aonung's expression instantly fall in disappointment, making him feel guilty.
Neteyam- I'm just gonna leave you here to sort things out with your family, and I'll be back to check on you later.
Aonung- You aren't staying with me?
Neteyam- Sorry, Ao, I have things to do.
Aonung- (sighs) I guess that's better, if my grandfather is still here. I'd hate to have him disrespect you.
Neteyam- You're sure you won't let him get to you anymore?
Aonung- If I say no, will you stay?
He rolls his eyes with a small smirk, knowing after hearing that, that his marine boy will be able to handle himself.
Neteyam- No, you brat.
Aonung- Worth a shot.
Neteyam- You'll be fine without me.
Aonung- Are you reassuring me, or yourself?
Neteyam- Both. Now I really need to go, I have to feed Lo'ak before he "dies" on the raft.
Aonung- He can eat here.
Neteyam- No, we have something really important to do.
Aonung- But-
Neteyam- We're going to talk things out with Yar. I made some accusations, and just wanna clear things u-
He's suddenly pulled against Aonung by his waist, and the boy hugs him tightly.
Aonung- Don't leave.
Neteyam- I have to. I'm gonna clear everything up with him, while you do the same with your family. Now let me go.
Aonung- No.
Neteyam- Aonung, seriously.
Aonung- No.
He sighs, momentarily giving into being stuck, until an idea pops into his head.
Aonung- Ow!
Aonung flinches away from him, holding his bitten ear, then Neteyam bolts down the stairs, and turns around at the bottom.
Neteyam- I'll be back later! Good luck!
After that, he runs over to his skimwing, and pulls off quickly, making Lo'ak fall over.
Aonung takes in a deep breath, feeling more nervous by the second. Not because he has to speak with his parents, but because Neteyam is going to speak with Yar.
Talking to his father after a fight is nothing compared to the dread of having his lover discover his disloyalty.
