Neteyam sits with widened eyes at what was just said to him. Aonung has just returned, after being gone for three months, not to mention the fact that he left without a word. He had promised not to scare him again, but didn't keep it, which had Neteyam thinking things were over. The thought of jumping right back into what they had unnerves him. He can't read Aonung's mind. What if the boy decides to leave again, or cheat, or just break up with him? Has he not considered how Neteyam feels after what he did? Or does it not matter because he's supposed to be like Aonung and be happy just because his lover is happy?
Neteyam- Stop.
Aonung- Stop?
Aonung's expression turns confused as Neteyam's smile disappears and he suddenly seems upset.
Neteyam- Yes, stop.
Aonung- Stop what?
Neteyam- Trying to give me reasons to get attached to you again.
Aonung- What's wrong with being attached to me? I'm attached to you.
Neteyam- Because you know you can trust me, but I can't . . .
He halts his words, seeing Aonung look more offended by the second.
Neteyam- I don't . . .
Aonung- Don't what? Know if you can trust me?
Neteyam- Yeah.
He says matter of factly, and Aonung scoffs and shakes his head, then stands from the couch, slowly pacing away.
Aonung- You are so unfair.
Neteyam- Unfair?
Aonung- Yes!
Aonung turns back around with a glare on his face, and takes a deep breath after shouting.
Neteyam- How am I unfair?
Aonung- You stop trusting too easily. Taking it away from me like it doesn't matter how hard I had to work earning it to begin with.
Neteyam- If you want to keep my trust then stop breaking it.
Aonung- If I have to work so hard for you, my progress shouldn't be decimated in a second!
Neteyam- It's not!
Aonung- Yes it is! Every time I make one little mistake you start acting like you're on a tightrope with me.
Neteyam- I always forgive you for whatever you do. You're just mad because I didn't do it immediately like I always have.
Neteyam stands from his spot, sick of looking up at Aonung like he's being scolded.
Aonung- No the hell I'm not!
Neteyam- Yes you are! You're such a spoiled brat.
Aonung- And you're fucking self centered.
Neteyam- How?
Aonung- Everything has to be done to accommodate the poor traumatized soldier.
Aonung begins to mock him in sarcasm.
Aonung- Everyone has to be nice to you, be careful with you, and put your needs before others. You can never be blamed for what you do, and it's always someone else's fault.
