"Ashley you'll be fine!" Mara tried to assure me. We were about to walk into the rink but I couldn't help but stress out about seeing Josh.

What if he doesn't want to see me after all.

"What if I fall on the ice and embarrass myself?"

"Josh will be there to make sure you don't. Now calm down!"

"Okay.. yeah your right.." I took a deep breath pulling the glass door open. The two of us walked in and headed for the front desk.

We paid for our skates and admission and went to find Colleen and Ava. "Ashley!"

I turned around to see Josh standing with his friends. I smiled walking up to him. He separated himself from his group to come over to me.

Mara went in with our other two friends so it was just us. "Hey." He smiled wrapping one arm at a time around my small waist.

"Hi." I smiled, looking up into his eyes. My heart was beating fast in my chest and I felt a sudden weakness in my knees at his gentle touch.

He leaned down and placed a peck on my lips. "You look beautiful."

"Thank you." I'm totally not blushing right now.

We both pulled away and he held my hand in his. Our fingers intertwined, walking into the rink on the other side of the glass. He led me to where they gave out skates, glancing at me occasionally.

My hands were starting to get sweaty so I let go once we approached the booth. I handed in my shoes in exchange for a size 4 figure skates.

I'm really curious as to how this will all play out. Sliding on my face is a definite possibility. Or maybe I'll skate right into the wall, that could happen.

The possibilities are endless really.

I sat on the bench trying to put on the skates. Josh bent down lifting my right foot in his hand starting to untie the laces. "Let me." He offered. I couldn't say anything, so I just smiled.

From on the rink, I saw Ava, Colleen, and Mara all looking towards us with an aw-that's-so-cute expression on their faces. I rolled my eyes at them since they were now starting to take pictures.

I glanced down at my wonderful boyfriend, as he finished off the other skate.

I really am lucky.

"You ready?" He asked holding out his hand. I grabbed it as I got up, pushing a loose strand of my hair behind my ear.

   "I'm ready."

He held my hand and as we got on the ice. I almost slipped but thankfully he caught me. "I got you." He chuckled.

He had one arm around my shoulder holding both my hands. Josh began guiding me around the rink and I couldn't help but smile.

I looked down at our intertwined hands to see a huge size difference. My small child hands look so tiny compared to his. "Just step and glide." He instructed.

I took a step trying to glide but starting going into a split. "Well, that's not working!" I chuckled. Good thing we were pretty early so nobody we knew was going to see my upcoming fails.

He laughed along with me. "It's ok you'll get it."

"No Josh, I don't think I ever will." I joked almost falling. "How am I doing so far?" I asked.

"Eh, your good but not great."

"Aw, you guys are so cute!" Colleen shouted from the sidelines. There they were again playing paparazzi with their phones. We just skated away from them going around a few more times.

"Hold hands!" Mara yelled.

More and more people started coming since it was now 8:30 pm. A few people from our school here and there but I didn't really talk to them much.

There was a group of popular kids outside the rink but I couldn't see them from where I was. We continued skating in silence. Random topics coming up occasionally.

"You need to meet my dog, Toby." He said.

"What breed do you have?"

"He's a husky." I looked at him my eyes widening. My jaw dropped, and I almost hit the wall.

"Aww! I love huskies!" I shriek.

"And I love you," Josh said hugging me. I hugged him back and I couldn't help but smile yet again. This boy is so sweet.

  "I love you too."

I loved holding his hand and talking about random crap but my ankles were KILLING me. Any minute now they'd give out and I'd be on the floor. No joke if I don't sit down pretty soon, I'm sorry Josh but you'll be dragging me around.

" I need to sit down." I breathed skating towards the exit. We both got off and I tried to balance myself walking on the skates.

I sat down and I hear a phone ringing."I'll be right back, it's my aunt." He stated.

"Okay." He walked out towards the food stand and I just sat there on my phone. Scrolling through my notifications.

"I thought you said you had plans." I heard a familiar deep voice say. I felt my heart beating in my chest once again and it got so hot all of a sudden.

"I do," I answered, looking up at Andrew. He had his arms crossed, and I noticed his flexed muscles quite visible through his black t-shirt.

"Doing what, sitting on this bench?" He smirked.

"No, I'm here with my boyfriend." I made sure I put as much emphasis on 'boyfriend' as possible.

He sat down beside me leaning his head against the wall. His muscular arms were still crossed, and his eyes were fixed on me. "Well, I don't see him."

  "He had a phone call."

"Sure he did." He said with an eye roll.

"Whatever, I don't have to explain myself to you." I leaned my back against the wall clearly annoyed. I cupped my two hands on the edge of the bench looking away from him as I stared at the ice.

I felt a strong hand cover mine and I froze. What is going on?

I slowly looked over at him. I narrowed my eyes looking at his face then our hands. "What are you doing?"

"Your hand looked cold." He smirked at me and I saw a glint of mischief in his eyes.

"Well, it's not." I clarified, yanking my hand away from him.

  "Okay. Whatever you say."

Where's Josh?  I swear to god he needs to get back here right now.

"You deserve better than that guy." I heard him say. I looked at him pointing at my boyfriend goofing around with a group of girls a grade lower than me.

"Why do you keep saying that?"

For real I'm curious. Why do you feel the need to say that?

    "Cuz it's true." He responded.

"You don't know what you're talking about."

"I know that he's always too busy to chill with you."

"That's not his fault," I replied frustrated.

"I know that he's always blowing you off." He pointed out.

"Well, he's going through a tough time right now." I defended.

"If you were my girl I'd always find time for you."
