"Mommy, where are we?"

Emery asked as I pulled into the restaurant parking lot.

"We're having lunch with someone."

I said, turning the car off. I helped her out of her car seat and carried her on my hip into the restaurant. I felt my stomach knot up as I spotted Seth.

"Hey."

I said approaching the table. Seth smiled as he looked up from his phone.

"Hey. Here."

Seth said, standing up and pulling out Emery and I'd seats.

"Thanks."

I said, sitting down and placing Emery in the seat next to me.

"Hey princess."

Seth said, looking down at Emery.

"Hey Daddy."

She said with a smile. It honestly took both Seth and I both by surprise when she said that.

"You remember him?"

I asked her.

"Yes! That's my Daddy!"

Emery said, pointing to Seth.

"Good. Now, what should we order."

I said, pointing to her menu.

"Oh, wait. I ordered both of your favorites. I hope you don't mind."

Seth said.

"Mine too?"

I asked him.

"Yeah. I know this is your favorite restaurant so I went ahead and ordered your favorite."

Seth said, smiling.

"Oh, thanks."

I said.

"So, what are you doing princess?"

Seth asked, turning his attention to Emery and her placemat. Emery moved over and sat next to Seth as they played the little games on her placemat. I snapped a photo as I smiled.

"Did you just take a photo of us?"

Seth asked, looking up at me.

"Maybe."

I said.

"Send it to me. I want a photo with my favorite girl."

He said, turning his attention back to Emery. I smiled, sending him the photo. Maybe this could work...
