Deciding to give Kaila more time to rest before throwing her back into the flow of life, another week had gone by. Without hearing a word from either Nina or Alex, the small family spent time in complete isolation just consolidating with one another.

But having already more than a months worth of time off of school with all of their breaks combined, they knew they couldn't rest much longer.

While Lain was helping Kaila get ready one morning, rather than putting her into soft comfortable playing outfit, she was put back into her school uniform.

Whining as Lain put it on, Kaila knew what this meant. "Don't wanna go school!" She wiggled on the ground with Elie in her lap as she began to strip out of the clothes Lain had just set her in.

"Kaila stop." Lain firmly said putting her clothes back on properly.

"Mommy no!" She pouted pulling the boring polo shirt over her head and chucking it half way across the room. "Wanna stay." She said hiding her face into the soft elephant. Her eyes just barely peaking over the top of it she looked at Lain with the biggest puppy dog eyes.

Sighing Lain went to grab her shirt from off the floor. Kneeling in front of Kaila she pulled her little girl in for a hug. "Trust me Kaila if we could stay longer and not have to worry about school, then we would."

"Why school though. It's boring. And the people smell funny." She plugged her nose with one hand and Elie's with the other.

Lain couldn't help but chuckle. "Your right princess. Some of those kids are a little smelly." She waved the air in front of her nose, Kaila couldn't help but giggle at her.

"That's better." Lain pecked her cheek. "Now do you want to dress yourself, or is mommy going to have to put her wiggly baby back into her clothes."

Kaila smiled pointing at Lain. "I figured." She rolled her eyes playfully. "Such a lazy baby." She teased putting Elie onto the floor while helping Kaila's arms into the shirt one at a time before pushing it over her head. "Look at how pretty you are!" Lain cooed.

Even though she'd seen Kaila in her uniform hundreds of times before, Lain still was stunned by the sight before her.

Kaila blushed giggling softly to herself.

Seeing Lain creeping up on her with her devilish smile Kaila gulped. Seeing an opening she took it and booked out of her room. "Hey!" Lain playfully yelled at her. "Get back here little girl!"

Chasing after one another, Kaila could hear Lain getting closer by the second. "Daddy!" She screamed seeing Mallix by the front door with their bags on the ground.

"Kaila-" Mallix said before the girl smashed against his chest.

"Help!" She pleaded with him. "Mommy gonna get me." She hid her face into his neck knowing he would do just fine on his own keeping her safe.

"Oh well in that case I'll protect you precious." He protectively wrapped his arms around her body, shielding her as Lain finally caught up.

Raising her eyebrow at Mallix, Lain tried to reach for Kaila but Mallix stepped back. "Sorry babe, but baby's first." He chuckled.

"Whatever." She laughed trying to reach for Kaila again but Mallix avoided her touch. Kaila laughed feeling like she was on a ride of her own as Mallix continued dodging all of Lain's attacks. Finally deciding to strike back, he waited until Lain was in just the right spot before launching a tickle attack on her.

The tall girl laughed as she backed away immediately covering her stomach. "Babe!" She shouted at him.

"Mommy ticklish?" Kaila was surprised to hear Lain laugh from the small touch.
