Chapter 78: Trade Places

The next morning arrived and the group were all back at school again.

The smile on Zander's face hadn't disappeared all morning long. Rather than spending his morning watching Alex practice, the small boy had joined the girls in watching Lain and Nina at swim.

The four little ones were all sat in a corner while the girls were off getting laps in. At the rate Lain was was swimming she was going to be a hundred laps in before their warm ups were over. The entire time their coach never stopped shouting for them to try harder.

Luckily, the four friends all sat together were far into their own conversation that the loud obstruction didn't bother them too much. They talked for what seemed like hours.

Lauren was closet to the wall. She leaned her head on the concrete staring off into space as her thoughts wandered away on its own. The other two girls, however, were more curious in another matter.

"So where'd you go?!" Kaila asked him eagerly.

Zander couldn't help but blush as he recalled his night. "An amusement park!"

The girls looked at one another jealous before looking back at him.

"Did you go on all the rides?!"

"Did you win any prizes?!"

"Did you get a lot of food?!"

They bombarded him with everything and anything that came to their minds. Before he was even able to answer any of their questions, Lain and Nina were already walking back to them.

"What's going on over here?" Lain's asked.

"Were asking Zander about his date with Alex!" Kaila told her bouncing in her seat.

"Leave him alone you crazy girls. I'm sure Zander wants to keep his time with Alex to himself." She told them but Nina put her hands up to silence her.

"Let's not be so quick with that L. I still want to know what happened too." Nina said sitting between Faye and Lauren. Immediately she felt Lauren's hands grab onto her arm tightly. Hiding her face behind Nina's arm, Lauren calmly breathed as she relaxed again.

Lain just rolled her eyes as she sat besides Zander. "Don't listen to them Z. If you don't want to tell them then you don't have to."

He chuckled. "It's alright. I'll say." He said confidently looking back at all the waiting girls.

"Alex thought the amusement park would be fun cause of all the games and rides. And he was right." His face was as bright as could be as he couldn't help but let his mind wander back into that night. "I won him a bear." He made sure to say.

"And how many did he win you?" Nina asked with a cocked eyebrow.

Zander looked down and back up. "Seven." He mumbled as all the girls laughed.

"What about the rides?" Faye asked still wanting to know how the exhilarating roller coasters were.

"They were fun. Alex wouldn't let me go on all the big rides, but we went on pretty much everything else. Oh and there was this one ride that looked like a dragon and we got to travel through a dark cave! It was scary! But Alex held my hand the whole time!"

"That all sounds fun and exciting Z, but speaking of time. It's time for us to go. I'm sure Alex wants you back now." Lain said as she stood and helped the kids closest to her put their bags on as Nina did the same.

All giggling and continuing on with their conversation the three little friends all walked ahead of the rest. Lauren however hadn't let go of Nina's hand, which the tall beauty wouldn't have minded if it wasn't for the tiny whimper she would hear come from the girl every once in a while.
