I know this title has so much significance in relation to Kadence, and I can't wait to see how it unfolds.
Blurb/Description: 9/10!
Simple and to the point. You don't give away much, yet pull in the readers with the mention of a pat that is a secret, and that is unknown to the other party.
Creativity and originality: 9/10!
There are some things that I have read about before but the way you have presented your plotline, from the way you write till how you place your flashbacks and POVs makes it so unique and refreshing.
Plot and Flow: 19/20!
The story has just started and I am already enjoying this story so much. I cannot really write an essay on it but there are some things that I loved –
- The prologue casually just dropped a bomb on me – Kady coming out of the prison. And I love how you just went ahead of it, leaving us to ponder over this intricate detail, a detail we didn't see coming.
- The constant 'they' you keep referring to sends chills down my spine. I can't wait to discover Kady's past and her connection with 'they'.
- I love how you have kept this sense of mystery around most of your characters, especially Alex and it pushes the plot on so many different levels.
P.S. Your chapter titles are great – every word holds so much meaning to it. Same goes with the pictures you've used ahead of every chapter.
Character Development: 8/10!
There is a lot to know about every character and it's always very difficult to judge a book that is just starting out. But I can see how you do justice to every character, give them their space and screen time. They all have this aura that just connects with the readers the second they read about them.
I know there are secrets left to unfold, and I am looking forward to see how those secrets make or break the characters.
Writing style, Grammar, spellings, etc.: 9/10!
Simplistic writing at it's glory! Nothing too fancy, just complex sentences woven to this great plot. It is consistent, even with the POV changes, and the blend of dialogues and descriptions is compelling to read. You know how to grab the reader's attention and retain it till the last word of your chapter.
There is like only one or two typos (like you wrote 'collage' instead of 'college'), and very few punctuation mistakes that I noticed.
Genre relevance: 7/10!
I still haven't felt anything about romance, other than Logan pining over Kady. But I know this will soon arrive.
Reader enjoyment and Communication with the readers: 10/10!
I am constantly hooked to the plot and as I already praised you for it, you retain your audience's outlook and attention to the last word of your story.
Overall: 90/100
I can't wait to see the story of Alex, and how it will affect Kady and Logan! Amazing storytelling, and compelling to the end!
