fighting over missed dates and busy schedules - part two (requested)

The night was a restless one for both you and Jisoo.

You barely slept, lying wide awake as your mind wandered and refused to calm down.

Jisoo did the same but slept on your side of the bed, unable to calm down any other way.

When morning came and your tears had dried, you decided to get up and go downstairs to grab some water.

You didn't think Jisoo had come out of the bedroom yet as you hadn't heard the bedroom door open or close nor did you hear the sound of her feet padding down the hallway.

But she was in the kitchen when you entered the room, sitting at the table with her head hanging down.

She lifted it when she heard you walk into the room and open the fridge to grab some water.

Your eyes locked from across the room as you turned around and walked to the counter, wondering if you should say something to her or not.

It was when you looked at the time that you suddenly parted your lips and spoke to your nervous girlfriend.

"You're late."

"No, I'm not. I took the day off."

"You're going to miss a lot of important stuff, aren't you?"

She shrugged her shoulders and got up from the table to slowly walk to where you stood.

"I don't know. I don't care."

"Jisoo, you should go-"

"No." She said. "The only place I need to be today is here with you." She said as she reached out to lay her hand on yours. "I'm sorry for the things I said last night and for the way I acted."

"I'm not innocent either, Jisoo. So I'm sorry, too."

She cracked a small smile before you both went quiet for a moment until she finally gathered her thoughts and spoke again.

"I thought long and hard about everything last night. I didn't even sleep."

"Me neither."

"I feel so bad about everything. I hope you know how much I wish I could treat you to more date nights, whether they're here at home or in the city. I love you lots and I want to spoil you because you deserve that. But being an idol is hard, y/n. I'm being honest when I say things can come up last minute and I'm so busy it's hard to get time off."

"Jisoo, it's okay. I understand."

"I know... but I'm not done yet."

You nodded for her to continue.

"When I forget dates, I don't do it on purpose. I need to stop forgetting, though, and I admit that. I also need to remember to text you or call you to tell you but sometimes, my phone dies or it just slips from my mind due to how busy or tired I am. I feel so terrible about it when I miss a date. They're important to you but they're also very important to me and I hope you know that."

"I do, baby."

"And I'm going to try and stop forgetting them. I want to spend more time with you because I miss you a lot."

"I miss you too." You said with a small smile and she brought your hand to her lips for a sweet kiss. "I know you work hard, babe. I see how much pressure you're under and how busy you get. I should be more understanding of when you can't make a date."

"Here and there, maybe. But not as many as I've missed."

"Can we just put everything behind us? Last night and everything up until now? I want to forget about it all."

"Yeah." She smiled. "Because, starting today, things are going to change. I'm going to make sure I make more dates and if things come up, I'll try to work around them and I'll be sure to tell you if I can't for any reason."

"Oh, baby," you squeezed her hand, your eyes lighting up and it made her heart skip a beat.

"I'm also going to stop promising to make things up to you and actually do it. I'm taking you out to dinner tonight, at that spot in town that you love. Just us. No phones, no talking about work or schedules. Just you and me spending some much-needed quality time together."

"I love the sound of that." You smiled as she pulled you in for a hug, kissing your head as she promised you that everything would be okay.
