"And here is your phone." The nurse said as she handed you your phone. "It's been going off like crazy. I assume someone really wants to talk to you." She chuckled and after making sure she got you everything you needed, she exited the room and let you have some privacy.

You put your phone on the bed beside you and looked around the hospital room.

This is where you'll be for a few days as you recover from the accident you were in, as well as the surgery you had to have when you were rushed here after the accident.

Overall, you're lucky. Your car, however, is not.

You had been driving to go and meet up with your friends for lunch but somebody was careless and ran through their red light and they hit your car with such force that you ended up flipping a couple of times.

You've got some pretty bad cuts and bruises, which are minor compared to your whiplash and broken bones, the one in your left leg so bad you had to have surgery on it to repair it.

You curled up with the warm blanket that the nurse got for you and you closed your tired eyes, hoping you could get some more rest since you didn't have much else to do and the painkillers you've been given were making you sleepy.

However, your phone began to vibrate beside you, and you curiously grabbed it to see who it was.

Upon picking it up and seeing the name on the screen, you saw that it was Hailee.

You cleared your throat before answering, trying to push through the exhaustion you felt to speak to her.

"Hi, baby."

"Y/N! Oh, thank gosh you answered! I've been so worried about you! Your friends called me and said that you never made it to lunch with them, which isn't like you. Are you sick or something?"

"Or something." You said as you shifted around in bed, wincing from the pain you felt upon doing so.

"What's going on? Are you okay?"

"Don't panic."

"You're starting off with that? Way to make me panic, y/n." She said, sorta serious but sorta joking as well.

"I was in an accident. I'm in the hospital."

"What? Are you okay?" She asked in a panicked tone.

"I will be. I had to have surgery on my leg, I broke it. I have whiplash and some cuts and bruises but I'll be fine with a little TLC. I just have to be here to heal for a few days."

"I'm texting your friends and then I'm booking the earliest flight home."

"No, Hailee, don't. You're touring, you have responsibilities that you can't get out of."

"Oh, yes I can. I'm coming home. I'm coming to see you and take care of you. I don't want you to be alone during this. I know you have friends and family but I want to be there for you."

"Okay. If you insist. As long as it won't get you into trouble."

"Please, what will they do, fire me?" She joked and you chuckled, only to wince.

"Don't make me laugh right now."

"I'm sorry, sweet girl. I'm booking a flight as we speak. I'll be there soon. I'll hold your hand and sing to you and be there by your side every step of the way as you heal. I'll take care of you."

"Okay." You said and as you started to think about her being by your side again, you found yourself smiling. "I'm so tired. The painkillers are making me sleepy."

"That's alright, my girl. I just booked a flight so I'm going to pack and head to the airport. I'll be there in just a few hours. I love you so much."

"I love you too and I can't wait to see you."

"Same here, baby. I'll see you soon. Rest up."

You ended the call and put your phone on the tray beside your bed before putting your head back on the pillow.

As you closed your eyes and it sank in that Hailee would be by your side in only a few hours, you felt a rush of happiness flood over you.

It's been a long few weeks without her since she's been so busy traveling as she tours.

So having her back, even when it's not under the best of circumstances, is something to be excited about and you can't wait to hold her hand again and have her by your side as you heal up for the next few weeks.
