Heart to Heart

Based off "Heart to Heart" by Mac Demarco!!
Also this took me exactly 21 minutes to write lmao.

Jake and Devon laid beside each other in bed, it was late but neither of them could sleep. Which was unusual for Devon. Neither of them knew what to say so they just listened to music, the song speaking to them. They both turned to their sides, almost in sync, and they just stared at each other. They inched closer together until their lips connected, both their hearts beating.

Once they pulled away, Jake smiled, blush filling his face.
"You are so cute."
Devon says.

"You're cuter."
The boy replies, covering his face.

"I may be cute but not as cute as you."
He claims, holding himself up with his elbow.

"Getting confident, are we?"
Jake teased.

"Maybe so. But you know I'm right."

"Maybe so."

It was silent between them for a moment, the music filling the air again. Jake turned onto his back.

"What do you love about me?"
He asked.

"I could go on and on for hours about why I love you."
Devon answers.

"Is that so?"

"Yeah, it is so."

"But I got to ask, why do you love me?"
Devon added.

"Well, I love how smooth your skin is. I've never seen you get acne or a pimple once. It's fucking crazy if I'm being honest."
Jake explains, Devon can only chuckle a bit as he rubs his nose.

"And you're caring for everyone, even if they're assholes. I love that you're shorter than me by exactly three inches! I found it attractive that you liked true crime, even having a podcast on it so I could listen to your voice everyday. I adore your face and your smile, you're insanely smart! You're responsible, unlike me! You're outgoing and you were never afraid to stand up for someone, even me."
The boy rambles, now Devon is the one blushing.

He covers his face and hides in the pillow.
"I didn't think you loved me that much!"
He exclaims.

"There's so much more but I don't want to kill you with my love for you!"
Jake jokes, snaking closer to him.

"I think you already did."
Devon responds.

"Aww, that's a shame!"

"I'm sorry. You just love me too much. I can't handle the love and affection."

"Well I say, we cuddle and turn that music all the way up."
Jake suggests, throwing himself on top of Devon.

"Yeah sure, let's hope our favorite songs play."

"And if they don't?"

"Nothing will happen. I'll just kiss you until you can't take it anymore either way."

"That's so gay."

"You're gay."

"I know. But did you know that you're also gay?"

"Oh really? I didn't know that!"

"Well, since I'm gay and you're gay, do you want to be gay together?"

"Aren't we already being gay together?"

"Not until we kiss again."

"Ok fine."

Jake leans in for another kiss, this time lasting longer. Devon wishes this night would last forever. But Jake has to pull away eventually. Until the night ends, they would cuddle and listen to their favorite playlist and kiss until they fell asleep in each other's arms.
