Family Reunion

*Deep in the heart of Texas*

"We auta get goin," Georgie tells her quietly as the day starts to drag on into late afternoon, "We've been gone all day..."

"Y-Yea," is her only response, in a hallowed voice as he helps her back to her feet

They head back to the car in silence, and things are completely silent between them both during the short drive back to the house; upon arriving home, they find the cookout already starting. MeeMaw's at the grill, while Mary and Elvira help set the table, Amy sits talking with Missy while Carl runs around the yard and Uncle Stumpy sits holding Matilda. It's as Georgie parks the car that another car arrives, and he spots Sheldon animatedly telling his daughter about something. Bailey just sits in Georgie's truck zoned out, as he gets out and heads over toward everyone else; her eyes maybe focused on her living relatives enjoying themselves a short distance away, but her mind is nothing but
an overloading hard drive just waiting to crash and burn from all she's learned so far...

"How long are ya gonna mope bout in the car fur?" A voice comes, scarring and cause Bailey to jump slightly

"..." she glare at them

"Haha-sorry," Mary say with a chuckle

"I see everyone's 'ere," she replies with a weak smile

"That's what ya wanted wasn't it?" Mary ask her confused

"Ya," She sighs out, "I just wish everyone could be 'ere..."

"I know baby," she coos as she opens the door and hugs her oldest daughter, then sighs heavily, "I know."

"Mom?" She asks quietly

"Yes baby?" Mary asks in return

"I've been thinking," she starts, "and-as soon as I'm a hundred percent again," she continues, "I wanna go somewhere."

"Alrighty," Mary tells her with a bright smile on, Not quiet understanding what she means, "where'd ya have in mind Bay?: six flags, or maybe-"

"No mom," she cuts her off, "I wanna go somewhere outside of Texas..."

"Oh," Mary states in shock

"I've been 'ere my whole life," she says with a bitter chuckle, "and I've been asleep for most that time...I just wanna see somewheres different before-I don't know," she says sighing the last part, "I'll keep workin on gettin my strength back, and gettin my G. E. D. while do so-"

"Well," Mary cuts in with a sigh, "ya've got plenty of time till yer functionin properly again," she tells her, "so y'all got plenty of time ta think bout things; but fur now, get outta this 'ere car and come join everyone."

"Yes ma'am," she says with a smile

     Mary helps her out of the car and over to where just about everyone else is; Bailey sits and eats her grandmother's famous brisket with the rest of her family, but she notices two guests missing...

"Hey Georgie," she calls over to her twin who seems busy with his little girl & neglecting his beer

"Ya?" He replies looking over to her

"Where's Erika and Georgina?" She asks him

"..." he glances around, then looks back to her, "guess they ain't 'ere yet; probably just stuck in traffic or somethin."

"He's a natural," Elvira says to Bailey as she sits down across from her

"Y'all really need ta have that talk soon," she tells her friend, "he was askin me bout yer business again-like he would when we was kids..."
