35. "Pack your bags, love. We're spending December in Vienna".

It was past dinner time already and Daniel still wasn't home. Being his wife for two years by now, you were used to it. The last months towards the end of the year were the most busy for his company and for you, it resulted in short nights spend with him and a lot of days were lonely till the office finally closed for the Christmasbreak. But that break never seemed to come and you were passing your time with reading, watching TV and taking care of your hair. Long story short, you much rather spend time with your husband instead of that. You had taken a shower after dinner, dressed in your nightgown already. It was snowing outside and you were watching it pour down from the sky in the bright moonlight. The night looked actually beautiful, a lot of stars sparkling in the heavens. You didn't even notice Daniel coming into the bedroom until you saw him in the reflection of the large windows.

You turned towards him when he moved to stand next to you, the first couple buttons of his blouse undone. "Hey, babe". Daniel greeted you, lifting your chin to kiss your lips. "Missed you". You replied instantly, feeling his arms curling around your lower back and you let your hands roam up his biceps to his chest. "I know, I missed you too". Daniel replied and you briefly closed your eyes when he kissed your forehead. "I have some news for you which you're going to like". He said next, making you look up at him again. "Pack your bags, love. We're spending December in Vienna". Daniel said, a smile curling his lips. "We are? Together?". You asked, your face lighting up. "We are". He confirmed. "My jet is flying us there tomorrow morning". He continued. Daniel's smile fell when yours did too, a frown furrowing your eyebrows and you crossed your arms over your chest. "You're not planning this trip to just satisfy my loneliness, now are you?". You asked. "Babe...". Daniel chuckled.

"No, I don't want you to think that spoiling me with that will make it all better". You pouted. "Love, we're married for two years, have I ever solved things in a material way?". He asked and you looked away from him. "Think about how beautiful Vienna will be in winter. And I'm leaving my work phone here at home, we're getting a nice hotel room with a balcony, go out for dinner every night, think about the lovely city, the chocolate, the sex-...". You glanced up at him, nevertheless not able to suppress your smile. "You're going to love it. We'll finally have some time together. I'm aware I haven't been home much the past couple weeks. I just want you to know that I love spending time with you and I'm eager to get away with just the two of us". He told you, making your heart swell in your chest. "I can't wait". You sighed, happily feeling him pulling you into his chest. Your arms curled around his neck while he lifted you up against him. "Just one more night and we're out of here". Daniel muttered.

He put you down on the edge of the bed, making you giggle when he leaned over you to let you fall back on the sheets. "I have a last phone call to make till everything is arranged". Daniel told you, his lips brushing over yours. "And then I'll be yours for tonight". You hooked your leg around his hips, one of his hands grabbing onto the flesh of your thigh under your nightgown. "You better hurry up". You said, looking into his pure chocolate hues. "Or else?". He asked and you pushed his chest to make him back off. "I'll start without you". You simply said, rising your nightgown further till you could take it over your head. Let's say he never finished a phone call that early before.
