SYNOPSIS: Carlos returns from a trip to help out a partner, and as always, he brings you a gift when he comes back, because your smile means everything to him.

Carlos leaned his elbow on the door of the car and rested his head against his hand. One of his men was driving the car. They just came from the airport, and they were now driving through Madrid to get back home. The highway became darker the further they drove out of the city center, the fewer cars they came across. Carlos was looking out of the window, just letting his mind wander anywhere, but mostly to you. He knew how much you hated it when he had to rush out of the city, fly over to one of his partners. The sudden moment always made you feel incredibly scared, and you longed for the phone calls to hear that he was coming back home from the minute he left. He landed about twenty minutes ago, and the first thing he did he was call you to tell you he was on his way home. Nothing sounded sweeter to Carlos' ears than you telling him you missed him, and that you were eager to see him.

The car took a turn and drove onto the long driveway to the mansion he owned. The gates opened when they approached, and the car halted soon after. Carlos got out of the car, taking the bag with some belongings by its handles, and he made his way inside. The lights in the hallway were dimmed a little, it was late at night, after all. Carlos looked up as you came down the marble stairs, your steps slightly rushed. A smile curled his lips at seeing you in the satin robe he had gifted you previously, and the soft waves of your hair that fell down your shoulders. "Mi amor," Carlos hummed, his arms curling around your waist while yours tangled around his neck. He lifted you with ease, twirling you around. "I missed you," you sighed. "Missed you more," Carlos replied, kissing your lips sweetly. Your hands moved to cup his cheeks, kissing him again. "Are you okay?" you asked, your thumb moving over a stitched up cut in one of his thick eyebrows. "I'm alright," he said, taking your hand in his to press a few kisses to your fingertips.

"What have you been up to, hmm? Looking so pretty," Carlos asked, and the charms of your boyfriend made it easy to forget about the couple of days you had to miss him. "Not much," you said, feeling the butterflies in your stomach when his hands wrapped around your waist and pulled you closer into his chest. "I was about to get something started on Netflix when you arrived," you said, your heart beating a little faster when his lips brushed over yours again. "I dearly want to spend some time with you, mi corazon," Carlos told you. "Let me hop in the shower, and I'll join you with some Netflix right away," he said, and you happily agreed. The two of you went upstairs, and Carlos got into the bathroom. You put some pillows up against the headboard, crawling under the sheets. Carlos was freshly showered soon after, and he joined you in bed with just some sweats on. He laid on his side, leaning on his elbow while presenting you a little box.

"I've gotten you something," he said, his eyes mesmerized by the smile that showed up on your face again. He brought you a gift, either jewelry, or something special, each time he came back from any kind of trip he went on. Carlos opened the box for you, revealing a pearl that laid in the middle of the soft jewelry cushion. It was shiny, and it looked really pretty. Carlos carefully took the pearl out of the box, and it was actually a necklace. "Let me put it on you," he hummed, and you sat up, holding your hair aside, so he could lock the little clasp in the nape of your neck. The pearl fell just a little beneath your collarbones, and you absolutely loved it. "Thank you," you smiled at him, cupping his jaw to kiss him again. "It's beautiful," you said, and he brushed some hair over your shoulder to admire the sight of you with the necklace. "I love you," you added. "I love you more, mi vida," Carlos muttered against your lips, leaning back till you both fell into the soft pillows, and Netflix was long forgotten.
